Plan nh, founded in 1989, has a mission to foster excellence in the planning, design and development of new hampshire's built environment. Our membership is a multidisciplinary group of architects, engineers, landscape architects, planners, builders and real estate professionals, financial and insurance firms, and others with an interest in how, what, and where we build, and the impact the built environment has on our daily lives. Several new hampshire towns, cities, and nonprofit organizations are also members. Plan nh has a vision of vibrant communities across the state; communities that are economically and socially vibrant, in which: our changing context is taken into consideration during planning and related decisions; communities balance necessary growth with preserving their unique sense of place; compact, mixed-use areas are encouraged; there are reasonable, affordable choices for where to live and how to get about; we are stewards of our natural resources and historic assets;

Several new hampshire towns, cities, and nonprofit organizations are also members. Plan nh has a vision of vibrant communities across the state; communities that are economically and socially vibrant, in which: our changing context is taken into consideration during planning and related decisions; communities balance necessary growth with preserving their unique sense of place; compact, mixed-use areas are encouraged; there are reasonable, affordable choices for where to live and how to get about; we are stewards of our natural resources and historic assets; there are educational and cultural opportunities of all kinds; all citizens are encouraged to be civically engaged. To achieve this vision, plan nh's mission is to foster and encourage sustainable planning, design and development of new hampshire's built environment. We do so by championing smart growth and livability principles, social responsibility, and collaboration and cooperation. Our means are programs and projects that inform and inspire professionals and community members here in the granite state. The overall purpose is to raise awareness of the link between the built environment and the health and vitality of our communities.”
“In april, plan nh conducted a community design charrette in sunapee, nh. In march, plan nh hosted a virtual "charrette program info session" to connect with communities that are interested in hosting a charrette as well as potential charrette volunteers. This recording was added to our online library. In july, plan nh also hosted "it started with a charrette," a community walking tour in franklin, nh focused on the process and outcomes of their previous charrettes with plan nh. The event ended at a local establishment where attendees heard from a local business owner and enjoyed networking time with one another. In october, plan nh also held a community design charrette in newmarket, nh.”
“In january, plan nh hosted a member thank you and networking event at warrenstreet architects to bring together plan nh members and others who care about the plan nh mission. In april, plan nh hosted our spring workshop, planning for electric vehicles in nh, at the unitil regional facility in exeter, nh. In may, plan nh organized a community walking tour in downtown manchester called "building homes, creating value." this walking tour highlighted a variety of mixed use and residential development projects in process as well as neighborhood improvements the city of manchester has prioritized in the last several years. The event ended with a networking event at a local establishment. In august, plan nh hosted a networking event at the dubay group to bring together plan nh members and others who care about the plan nh mission. In september, plan nh also hosted our fall conference at hotel concord in concord, nh. There were 72 attendees for this conference. The conference was titled art attack arts, culture, and the built environment and focused on how planners, architects, and others are using arts and culture to create more meaningful, vibrant, and sustainable places in new hampshire and beyond. The keynote speaker was dr. Annis sengupta of the metropolitan area planning council and the arts & culture division of the american planning association based in massachusetts. In november, plan nh hosted a networking event at tfmoran to bring together plan nh members and others who care about the plan nh mission.”
“In february, plan nh hosted our annual "virtual town hall," introducing board members and plans for the year. This recording was added to our online library. In october, plan nh hosted our annual golf classic and fundraiser at beaver meadows in concord, hosting 110 players and raising over 28,000 for the plan nh mission and scholarship fund. Throughout 2024, plan nh maintained a membership of 90+ firms, municipalities, nonprofits, and individuals passionate about nh's built environment. Throughout 2024, plan nh, in partnership with new hampshire housing, continued to administer the investnh municipal planning & zoning grant program, awarding grants to communities across the state looking to expand housing options and community engagement in their area. Plan nh continues to inform and inspire communities, as well as the planners, designers and builders who shape them, about ideas, trends and practices that could contribute to creating delightful places in which to live, work, and/or play. We do so through our events and through newsletters, blog entries, and our website - www.plannh.org.”

IN OCTOBER, PLAN NH HOSTED OUR ANNUAL GOLF CLASSIC AND FUNDRAISER AT BEAVER MEADOWS IN CONCORD, HOSTING 110 PLAYERS AND RAISING OVER 28,000 FOR THE PLAN NH MISSION AND SCHOLARSHIP FUND. THROUGHOUT 2024, PLAN NH MAINTAINED A MEMBERSHIP OF 90+ FIRMS, MUNICIPALITIES, NONPROFITS, AND INDIVIDUALS PASSIONATE ABOUT NH'S BUILT ENVIRONMENT. THROUGHOUT 2024, PLAN NH, IN PARTNERSHIP WITH NEW HAMPSHIRE HOUSING, CONTINUED TO ADMINISTER THE INVESTNH MUNICIPAL PLANNING & ZONING GRANT PROGRAM, AWARDING GRANTS TO COMMUNITIES ACROSS THE STATE LOOKING TO EXPAND HOUSING OPTIONS AND COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT IN THEIR AREA. PLAN NH CONTINUES TO INFORM AND INSPIRE COMMUNITIES, AS WELL AS THE PLANNERS, DESIGNERS AND BUILDERS WHO SHAPE THEM, ABOUT IDEAS, TRENDS AND PRACTICES THAT COULD CONTRIBUTE TO CREATING DELIGHTFUL PLACES IN WHICH TO LIVE, WORK, AND/OR PLAY.
