Mission

St. Peter's Auxiliary is a member of St. Peter's Health Partners ("SPHP") which, acting in the Catholic tradition of the Catholic Health Ministries, is a community of persons committed to being a transforming, healing presence within the communities we serve. We treat all persons with dignity, hospitality and compassion, calling forth their best human potential. We provide comprehensive services that support healthy communities, including quality medical care with holistic approaches to healing body, mind and spirit. We care for and strengthen the ministry and all resources entrusted to us. We advocate for accessible health care and quality of life for all, especially those who are poor. We respond with courage and integrity to needs for services in a rapidly changing health care environment. St. Peter's Health Partners is a member of Trinity Health.

IRS990/Description0To support the efforts of St. Peter's Health Care Services through special activities and ongoing programs such as the Mercy Me Gift Shop and the For Pete's Sake Thrift Shop. In addition, the St. Peter's Auxiliary Sponsors a variety of programs and services designed to support education and health care throughout the community.Some of the programs in 2010 included the Healthy Family which provided baby and family products to patients at the hospital's Family Health Center, breast support bags with camisoles provided to women who had mastectomies and lump inspections, the sunshine program which offered beverages and snacks to people waiting for family members to come out of surgery, contributions for the upkeep of the paging system and other programs supporting patient care and employees attending school or conferences.

Disclosures of financial interest or other reportable circumstances as defined in the policy are submitted and reviewed by the organization's CEO and board's Chair. Summary information is reported to the entire board and available to the board throughout the year as business comes before the board or management for action. The policy contains a continuing affirmative obligation on all affected individuals to disclose compensation or other circumstances throughout the year which may rise to the level of an actual or apparent conflict. The determination of whether a disclosed financial or other interest constitutes a conflict of interest is made by the board or an appropriate committee thereof comprised of dis-interested persons and without the participation of the affected individual except to respond to questions about the disclosure. The policy further addresses the procedure for the board's further consideration of the proposed transaction/matter without the participation of the affected person and the documentation of the proceedings. Lastly, the policy addresses potential disciplinary action for violations of the policy. The policy is available to the public upon request.

The board/committee has an established compensation philosophy which details the objectives of market positioning and pay elements. The committee engages with external consultants to provide market data comparing St. Peter's Health Care Service's roles to similarly sized health systems utilizing both title and job content comparisons. The committee reviews the market analysis, approves any salary adjustments for the executive population, considers both reasonableness and effectiveness of all remunerative programs and establishes the detailed performance expectations which are incorporated into the incentive plan. All of these discussions and decisions are documented through the provision of meeting minutes. The compensation for the CIO follows the same processes outlined for the CEO. The compensation of the Executive Director of St. Peter's Auxiliary is reviewed by an independent compensation consultant who reviews the salary to ensure it is within market and market competitive. This review is done on an annual basis and communicated to the board.
