Activity 2

Opera north's young artist program is an opportunity for 20-25 young singers, pianists and production assistants to receive instruction, career development coaching, acting lessons, and performance experience while participating in mainstage and outreach productions. Young artists perform in the ensemble and in comprimario roles during opera north's mainstage productions each summer. These artists have the opportunity to work with principal artists, who have established careers, along with a full orchestra. In addition, young artists perform all roles in a special community matinee each summer. Some of these artists return to the region to perform in education and outreach events in local schools and public venues throughout the year, opera north performed for over 4000 school-aged children in two tours of new hampshire and vermont. Opera north also presented an adult lecture series on "little women" and a five-part opera education series. These free programs bring opera to schools and public venues throughout the upper valley.

Activity 3

Opera north brings exceptional principal and young artists to the upper valley, as well as orchestra and technical personnel, to perform world-class mainstage operas for audiences drawn from regions across the country. As part of its programming, opera north stages free and low-cost scenes, programs and showcases in many different communities throughout the upper valley.
