Additional Explanations

Part I - Line 22 - Net Assets

The balance in the Net Assets Balance at August 31, 2015 consists of the following: Designated for Operating Funds and Reserves $ 30,000 Invested in Property and Equipment 1,288,224 Undesignated Operating Funds 862,849 Temporarily Restricted 70,181 ------------- Total Net Assets $ 2,251,254 =============FY14 Crossroads Financial Statements and Use of Net Asset ReservesAfter using Net Asset Reserves for significant professional fees incurred in FY12 to wisely and promptly respond to organization concerns, the Crossroads Board timely responded during FY13 and FY14 to provide the use of additional Net Asset Reserves for ongoing CAM program expenses in response to resolving various CAM program operating challeges. Also, during FY13 and FY14, the Board actively used Net Asset Reserves to incur staff transition costs to make changes necessary to enhance administrative efficiencies and invest in future program opportunities. The benefits for FY15 and future years of using the reserves included enhanced delivery of youth services and increased financial stability. After achieving our respective annual youth program mission goals, FY13 and FY14 operating results were completely understood by an active Board and followed a careful management plan that included the need to use prior year's significant accumulated organization reserves to handle the financial impact of unusual circumstances that developed in FY13 and FY14.Thirty plus years of stable organization management created impressive reserves from program operating results that adequately handled FY13 and FY14 excess expenditures and yet still currently provides adequate reserves to handle future Crossroads program operations and property management.
