| IRS990/Description | 0 | By using consumer marketing and advertising strategies as the basis for its outreach, the Montana Meth Project has been repeatedly cited as a powerful private sector response to a devastating social problem. It was recently recognized by the White House as one of the nation's most powerful and creative anti-drug programs.In their last ranking, Barron's Magazine recognized the Meth Project Foundation as the third most-effective philanthropy in the world.Montana Meth Project accomplishments for 2012 include: MethProject.org is now the first result when someone searches for meth in Google, surpassing Wikipedia and the National Institute on Drug Abuse. MethProject.org has already changed the way teens get information about substance abuse. o Our impactful video ads have been viewed over 67 million times in the last year, 2.4 million times in Montana alone. o The personal audio stories have been heard over 152,000 times by teens in Montana. o We have served over 32 million display and Facebook ads in Montana. o We grew our Facebook followers by 56% to over 5,000 fans. o MethProject.org is a new approach to prevention. It has captured teens' attention because it was created based on their feedback, and with their digital behaviors top of mind. There are over 350 pieces of content on MethProject.org. o Teens spend an average of 5 minutes and 25 seconds* exploring the site. o We are reaching teens where they live on-line all across the state. The Montana Meth Project has launched the Meth Prevention Lesson, a new in-school initiative that brings compelling anti-meth messages directly to the classroom. The free, downloadable resource gives Montana teachers a new tool to help educate students about the dangers that methamphetamine poses to their health and safety, and that of their friends and communities. Throughout its eight-year history, the use of visual imagery has been key to the success of the Montana Meth Project. A recent initiative to spread the word about the risks of methamphetamine put the power of art into the hands of teens, who worked with schools and community groups in six cities to create muralsand even an ice sculptureto illustrate the Montana Meth Projects anti-meth message. A steady stream of real life-stories and creative content about the impact of meth has led to dramatic increases in the Montana Meth Projects engagement with teens via social media, particularly on our Facebook page. In 2012, the number of our fans on Facebook has increased by more than 300 percent, with the site becoming a powerful catalyst for dialogue with the Montana Meth Projects core teen audience.
