“The corporation determined that the fishing opportunities of washington state have been unfairly restricted to benefit certain user groups. On behalf of the corporation's approximately 350 members, and for the benefit of the public, the corporation initiated two legal actions with the goal of protecting and enhancing the public's ability to share in the state's salmon resource. The corporation testified on behalf of state senate bill 5421, educated the public on current issues via public media (two radio interviews, three magazine interviews, three newspaper interviews, and several outdoor-related podcast intyerviews), and gave private presentations to five or more recreational fishing clubs. In support of its mission to promote conservation, the organization made financial donations to a puget sound anglers herring spawn project as well as to a salmon net pen project. Further, the corporaiton actively produced relevant material on its web site and social media sites.”
