Mission

The objectives in 2018 included special focus on youth programs, social activities, spiritual/self-development programs for the community and mas members. As part of this objective, there was a focus on family oriented social activities and young professionals and youth

Primary exempt purpose:1. To nurture american muslim role models who exemplify islam in a manner which is comprehensive, balanced, approachable and attractive.2. To mobilize the bay area muslim community to spread the message of islam through community reform, education and service.

MAS Bay Area 2013Objectives:The objectives for MAS Bay Area in 2013 included special focus on social activities in the chapter and paying extra emphasis on the self-development programs for the community and MAS members. As part of this objective, there was a focus on family oriented social activities and young professionals and youth. Achievements for 2013:1-The organization maintained its self-development groups for youth and adults of various ages. This included groups for high school students, college students, young professionals, and older adults. 2-We have held a monthly spiritual night prayers meetings at various mosques around the Bay Area with specific focus in the MCA community in Santa Clara.3-We provided volunteers for Habitat for Humanity and other local organizations, such as the Muslim Community Association, to help with their projects 4-We participated in MAS annual Ilm & Tarbiyah Camp held in Santa Barbara-CA. We offered volunteers from our chapter to help with various tasks during the one week long camp. 5-MAS Bay Area provided children who are victims of domestic violence and child abuse approximately 500 backpacks full of school supplies. This was done in partnership with local agencies such as Legal Advocates for Youth (LACY), Next Door Solutions to Domestic Violence, and Alameda County Children and Family Services.6-We have organized a Youth Soccer Tournament in March 2013 helt at the MVP Arena in San Jose. Eight teams participated in the one day tournament and each team consisted of 7-9 players. 7-We have organized several social activities for the family, from White river rafting trips to the Sacramento River, to bowling nights, and picnics. Each events was successful in its own right.Future Goals:MAS Bay Area plans to continue the programming it has achieved in 2013 and to expand many of the self-development programs. The goals of 2014 include:1-Maintaining and growing the number of self-development groups.2-Plans to increase its involvement in social services projects around the Bay Area including soup kitchens, tree plantings, and park clean-ups thru our MAS Youth Give arm. 3-Grow the Back to school project and target 1000 back-bags 4-Increase the programs for youth and young professionals.5-Maintain and Increase our family social activities for chapters members6-Restart our MAS Family Annual Camp.==================================================================================$88,274$12,144
