“Statement of program service accomplishmentsmas bay area 2017objectives:the objectives for mas bay area in 2017 included special focus on youth programs, social activities, spiritual/self-development programs for the community and mas members. As part of this objective, there was a focus on family oriented social activities and young professionals and youth. Achievements for 2017:1-we held periodic spiritual night prayers meetings at various locations for our mas members.2-we participated in mas annual ilm & tarbiyah camp held in big bear mountains region in southern ca. We offered volunteers from our chapter to help with various tasks during the one week long camp. 3-mas bay area provided children who are victims of domestic violence and child abuse approximately 750 backpacks full of school supplies. This was done in partnership with local agencies such as legal advocates for youth (lacy), next door solutions to domestic violence.4-we have an ongoing girls scout troops that meets at mas office and managed by mas volunteers. 5-we have organized several social activities for the family including several picnics.6-we have held our annual youth camp in september 2017 where more than 100 teens attended the 2 day camp7-we held our one week annual kids summer camp in june of 2017. Around 110 kids between 5-12yrs old attended the program 8-we held quran quest competition for our community members, with emphasis on youth and family. Valuable prizes were handed to the teams who won in their level.9-we held our first annual seerah quest competition in october. Similar to quran quest, our emphasis was on youth and family. Valuable prizes were handed to the winning teams. Future goals:mas bay area plans to continue and build on the success we reached in 2017. The goals of 2018 include:1-maintaining and growing the number of self-development groups. 2-improve organizational structure and improve communication and collaboration amongst the carious committees3-increase the programs for youth and young professionals, which includea.weekly teens study circlesb.quran quest competitionc.summer school campd.youth summer campe.participate in mas national youth training program.f.young professionals networking eventsg.young professionals basketball tournament 4-maintain and increase our family social activities for chapters members organizations primary exempt purpose:1.
