During the annual ceo evaluation, the board sought counsel from other sources to determine appropriate compensation levels and bonus amounts. The board sought comparative data that identified ceo compensation for similar size and type organizations (e.g. Non-profits, west coast, with a budget less than $25 million) to determine the appropriate compensation level. In addition, the board used data available to the board from current experience to determine any adjustment regarding compensation (e.g. Bay area non-profit cola trends in 2009 and 2010 through date of evaluation). Officers, other than the president/ceo are not compensated (i.e. Board chair, secretary, and treasurer). These positions are filled by individuals acting in a volunteer capacity. That is, board members and board officers currently are not compensated.

FORM 990:DISCLOSURE FOR TERMINATION

Effective january 1, 2014, the organization was merged into davita village trust, inc. (dvt). Dvt has brought together the operations of bridge of life davita medical missions and the kidney trust and created a new entity, terminating the organization as well as the kidney trust.

Financial Statement Notes

PART X, LINE 2:

The organization is exempt from federal income taxes under section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code. Accordingly, no provision for taxes has been included within the financial statements. For the 2013 and 2012 financial statements, the organization has accounted for uncertain tax positions whereby the effect of the uncertainty would be recorded if the outcome was considered probable and was reasonably estimable. As of december 31, 2013 and 2012, the organization had not identified any uncertain tax positions requiring accrual or disclosure.
