“Roccs is an acronym for the rowing organization of citrus county students. Our purpose is to introduce the sport of crew to any citrus county student who has the drive and determination to pursue it and to provide a resource to adult rowers of all ages. Since roccs was formed in 2007, many of our rowers have gone on to compete at the collegiate level and have earned scholarships in rowing. In fact, collegiate rowing scholarships are more attainable than any other sport, with 1 out of 2 girls and 1 out of 6 boys earning scholarships. Roccs' goal is to develop and coach athletes to perform at the highest levels of competition in our sport, and to promote teamwork, commitment, and increased levels of physical fitness.”

“Fy22 was a year focused on rebuilding our program after covid took a toll on membership. We were able to fundraise significantly and reinvest in equipment and boats, purchasing 2 new racing shells. We hosted a group of olympic hopeful athletes from the craftsbury outdoor centers in vermont's green racing project during winter training which provided great exposure and mentorship for our high school and middle school team members. On the water our team performed very well, earning top spots at fl state sculling championships and southeast regional championships. College recruiting efforts were also successful with one of our team members earning a rowing scholarship to the division 1 program at ucf and another earning a spot on the varsity team at the same university.”
