IRS990/Desc0Permanency Programs Fairfield County - Family Finding & Family Group Decision Making model. This program is designed to find, engage, partner with, and support kinship caregivers for children who are just entering the foster care system. The highly collaborative model works to empower relatives to make decisions for their children to help keep them safe and to ensure they achieve permanency. Stark County - Agency Wide Family Search & Engagement Implementation. This program has six core recommendations and approaches focused on creating Family Search and Engagement values, an agency-wide Policy & Procedure, working to expand the use of Alternative Response, creating FSE specific positions, and utilizing a learning community to ensure ongoing commitment to education. Cuyahoga County - Youth Permanency Transition Team Coaching & Training. Cuyahoga County Division of Children and Family Services (CCDCFS), specifically the Youth Permanency Transition Team Units, have identified the opportunity to increase the permanency and family connections outcomes for their older youth historically served by the Independent Living Unit. The agency partnered with the Waiting Child Fund in 2016 to assist with the training, coaching, and implementation planning for this transition. Statewide - FSE Training & Coaching. Through an ongoing partnership with the Institute for Human Services (IHS) and the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services, the Waiting Child Fund offers ongoing FSE training and coaching services. These training and coaching tools were delivered at 5 of the 8 regional training centers to 16 counties in Ohio in 2016. Statewide - Youth Centered Permanency Roundtables. The Waiting Child Fund works as a partner in the implementation process of the Casey Family Program's Permanency Roundtable program. As a member of the Statewide Advisory Council, trainers and coaches, and External Permanency Consultants the Waiting Child Fund helps the 11 pilot counties with the strategic, tactical, and case-level practice of implementing the model.

IRS990/MissionDesc0The Waiting Child Fund has one fundamental goal: to help place children in foster care with a permanent family. Permanency is what our children deserve, and it is what they need in order to heal and grow from the trauma they have experienced due to abuse or neglect. The Waiting Child Fund is a collaborative organization. We work closely with counties around Ohio who have custody of children in foster care. We also work with private nonprofit agencies, court systems, mental health agencies, and our colleagues from around the country to work on behalf of families and children. Our role is to help agencies increase their permanency outcomes. We help build programs, we advocate for improvements to the foster care system, we provide training and coaching, and we are working to lead a movement of agencies and individuals who are committed to ensuring that all children achieve permanency.

IRS990/ProgSrvcAccomActy2Grp/Desc0Coaching and Training - Our Approach & Process: Assessment: We work with agency leadership to determine the current state of permanency practice within your organization. Our approach is designed to capture staff attitudes, beliefs, and practice behaviors to determine alignment with agency mission, vision, and culture. Teaming: We take both a top-down and bottom-up approach. Starting with the leadership team, we work to develop a collective vision upon which the desired permanency practice will be built. The leadership team is then joined by staff and supervisors to create a group of champions who will lead the change. Design: Building upon the assessment data and agency strengths, we facilitate the design of services which will increase the permanency outcomes for your families and children. We incorporate your existing agency initiatives with innovative permanency practice models from around the county. Implementation: Moving from design to implementation requires the creation of agency-specific materials and fidelity measures. Everyone at the agency must have a common framework for the new practice model or services. We help through initial education and communication and provide ongoing guidance and coaching. Evaluation and Support: Evaluation is conducted throughout the implementation process and is designed to provide support and feedback to improve outcomes. We take a qualitative and quantitative look at what is working, the anticipated and unanticipated barriers, and help you to implement the recommended changes.
