Total international youth 501 domestic programming halo learning centers the halo learning center partners with area homeless shelters, residential care facilities, alternative high schools and transitional living programs to provide therapeutic art and life skill programming to youth in the greatest need. Programming is based around providing the greatest impact in a shortened amount of time, allowing youth to leave with new information, and a completed project. Current programming includes art & life skill workshops, vocational workshops, professional development courses, scholorship opportunities, healthy relationship courses, and special events. All programs are designed and taught by halo center staff as well as knowledgeable volunteers committed to empowering halo youth. The kansas city learning center was opened in 2011. In 2018, halo served 648 youth from area homeless shelters, residential homes, and at-risk youth programs such as, restart inc.'s youth emergency shelter and transitional living program, salvation army children's shelter, big brothers big sisters of kansas city, gordon parks elementary school, cornerstones of care, operation breakthrough and fairfax learning center. The kc learning center facilitated 162 programs in 2018, and served healthy snacks or full meals at every single program. Individually, kc served over 1,500 meals in 2018. The jefferson city learning center was openend in 2012. In 2018, the learning center staff served 55 homeless and at-risk youth through workshops, programs and meetings. Form 990, Page 2, Part III, Line 4B

The halo transitional living program (tlp) is an 18 month-long program that provides free housing for pregnant, parenting, and non-parenting youth ages 16-21 years old who are in homeless or high-risk situations. The goal of the halo tlp is to help youth exit "crisis mode", set long-term goals for themselves, and learn to live independently. This program provides children of parenting teens a safe and stable living environment and assistance in securing daycare. Youth who are accepted into the program are required to be enrolled in school and seek and obtain part-time employment while they are in school. Youth who have graduated from high school must either obtain full-time employment or start college classes. Youth are required to participate in life-skills workshops, which are aimed at teaching them how to live independently. Parenting youth are required to take weekly parenting classes. Halo staff work with youth on 7 main focus areas: education, employment, financial, parenting, health, spiritual, and transportation. Each youth meets weekly with halo staff to work on their goals and assess their progress throughout the program. The kansas city halo tlp served 3 youth in 2018. The jefferson city halo tlp served 48 youth in 2018. Halo began a new program in 2018, called the halo makers program. Halo makers is an employment readiness program built into the halo housing program. Through collaboration with a kansas city interior designer, halo youth are given a chance to learn valuable life skills through the entire process of making a reclaimed wood serving tray, along with marketing and selling the final piece. Sanding and finishing these wood trays offers therapeutic benefits to youth struggling wiht homelessness and other life issues. In addition, the collaboration with woodworking and design professionals teaches them essential skills along the way. Each serving tray sells for 250, and half of the funds raised are saved for the halo youth who made the tray, in their halo future fund, which is money to support their housing or transportation among graduation from the halo housing program. The other half of the funds goes back to support the halo maker program for the purchase of materials to continue the program.
