Uganda gulu girls home 20 children uganda gulu boys home 9 children uganda kibuli boys home 22 children uganda school sponsorship 10 children nansana program 9 children uganda learning center 100 children lily of the valley orphanage: playas, mexico 60 children total international youth- 415 domestic programming: halo learning centers the halo learning center partners with area homeless shelters, residential care facilities, alternative high schools and transitional living programs to provide therapeutic art and life skill programming to youth in the greatest need. Programming is based around providing the greatest impact in a shortened amount of time, allowing youth to leave with new information, and a completed project. Current programming includes weekly art & life skill workshops, quarterly vocational workshops, as well as year-round professional development courses, scholarship opportunities and special events. All programs are designed and taught by halo center staff as well as knowledgeable volunteers committed to empowering halo youth. The kansas city learning center was opened in 2011. In 2015, halo served 620 youth from area homeless shelters, residential homes, and at-risk youth programs such as, restart inc.'s youth emergency shelter and transitional living program, salvation army's children's shelter, big brothers big sisters of kansas city, hillcrest transitional housing, sheffield place, ozanam pathways, spofford home and operation breakthrough. The jefferson city learning center was opened in 2012. In 2015, learning center staff had 429 interactions with 114 homeless and at-risk youth through workshops, programs and meetings. Youth served in jefferson city are from partnering agencies such as jefferson city academic center, jefferson city public schools, and racs (rape and abuse crisis service).

Teaching them how to live independently. Parenting youth are required to take weekly parenting classes. Halo staff work with youth on 7 main focus areas: education, employment, financial, parenting, health, spiritual, and transportation. Each youth meets weekly with halo staff to work on their goals and assess their progress throughout the program. The kansas city halo tlp was opened in october of 2015 and served 3 youth in 2015. The jefferson city halo tlp served 15 youth in 2015.

Satellite programs halo offers off-site programming to at-risk, homeless, and foster care youth living in group homes, homeless shelters, and foster homes. This future focused educational program is geared toward enhancing self- confidence, skill development, positive goal setting and positive self- expression. Number of youth served: jefferson city: 95 portland: 30 new york city: 30 clubhalo clubhalo encourages local youth involvement in volunteerism, philanthropy, self expression, and education on world issues. In 2010, a group of 25 youth came together to put on a boardbreakathon fund raiser for halo youth in need. Clubhalo members are committed to becoming educated on issues such as poverty, the orphan crisis, developing countries, volunteerism, philanthropy, and the importance of helping others. Number of youth: 10.

IRS990/ProgSrvcAccomActy2Grp/Desc0THE HALO TRANSITIONAL LIVING PROGRAM (TLP) IS AN 18 MONTH-LONG PROGRAM THAT PROVIDES FREE HOUSING FOR PREGNANT, PARENTING, AND NON-PARENTING YOUTH AGES 16-21 YEARS OLD WHO ARE IN HOMELESS OR HIGH-RISK SITUATIONS. THE GOAL OF THE HALO TLP IS TO HELP YOUTH EXIT "CRISIS MODE", SET LONG-TERM GOALS FOR THEMSELVES, AND LEARN TO LIVE INDEPENDENTLY. THIS PROGRAM PROVIDES CHILDREN OF PARENTING TEENS A SAFE AND STABLE LIVING ENVIRONMENT AND ASSISTANCE IN SECURING DAYCARE. YOUTH WHO ARE ACCEPTED INTO THE PROGRAM ARE REQUIRED TO BE ENROLLED IN SCHOOL AND SEEK AND OBTAIN PART-TIME EMPLOYMENT WHILE THEY ARE IN SCHOOL. YOUTH WHO HAVE GRADUATED FROM HIGH SCHOOL MUST EITHER OBTAIN FULL-TIME EMPLOYMENT OR START COLLEGE CLASSES. YOUTH ARE REQUIRED TO PARTICIPATE IN LIFE-SKILLS WORKSHOPS, WHICH ARE AIMED AT TEACHING THEM HOW TO LIVE INDEPENDENTLY. PARENTING YOUTH ARE REQUIRED TO TAKE WEEKLY PARENTING CLASSES. HALO STAFF WORK WITH YOUTH ON 7 MAIN FOCUS AREAS: EDUCATION, EMPLOYMENT, FINANCIAL, PARENTING, HEALTH, SPIRITUAL, AND TRANSPORTATION. EACH YOUTH MEETS WEEKLY WITH HALO STAFF TO WORK ON THEIR GOALS AND ASSESS THEIR PROGRESS THROUGHOUT THE PROGRAM. THE KANSAS CITY HALO TLP WAS OPENED IN OCTOBER OF 2015 AND SERVED 3 YOUTH IN 2015. THE JEFFERSON CITY HALO TLP SERVED 15 YOUTH IN 2015.

IN 2010, A GROUP OF 25 YOUTH CAME TOGETHER TO PUT ON A BOARDBREAKATHON FUND RAISER FOR HALO YOUTH IN NEED. CLUBHALO MEMBERS ARE COMMITTED TO BECOMING EDUCATED ON ISSUES SUCH AS POVERTY, THE ORPHAN CRISIS, DEVELOPING COUNTRIES, VOLUNTEERISM, PHILANTHROPY, AND THE IMPORTANCE OF HELPING OTHERS. ALL PROGRAMS ARE DESIGNED AND TAUGHT BY HALO CENTER STAFF AS WELL AS KNOWLEDGEABLE VOLUNTEERS COMMITTED TO EMPOWERING HALO YOUTH. THE KANSAS CITY LEARNING CENTER WAS OPENED IN 2011. IN 2015, HALO SERVED 620 YOUTH FROM AREA HOMELESS SHELTERS, RESIDENTIAL HOMES, AND AT-RISK YOUTH PROGRAMS SUCH AS, RESTART INC.'S YOUTH EMERGENCY SHELTER AND TRANSITIONAL LIVING PROGRAM, SALVATION ARMY'S CHILDREN'S SHELTER, BIG BROTHERS BIG SISTERS OF KANSAS CITY, HILLCREST TRANSITIONAL HOUSING, SHEFFIELD PLACE, OZANAM PATHWAYS, SPOFFORD HOME AND OPERATION BREAKTHROUGH. THE JEFFERSON CITY LEARNING CENTER WAS OPENED IN 2012. IN 2015, LEARNING CENTER STAFF HAD 429 INTERACTIONS WITH 114 HOMELESS AND AT-RISK YOUTH THROUGH WORKSHOPS, PROGRAMS AND MEETINGS. YOUTH SERVED IN JEFFERSON CITY ARE FROM PARTNERING AGENCIES SUCH AS JEFFERSON CITY ACADEMIC CENTER, JEFFERSON CITY PUBLIC SCHOOLS, AND RACS (RAPE AND ABUSE CRISIS SERVICE).

IN 2010, A GROUP OF 25 YOUTH CAME TOGETHER TO PUT ON A BOARDBREAKATHON FUND RAISER FOR HALO YOUTH IN NEED. CLUBHALO MEMBERS ARE COMMITTED TO BECOMING EDUCATED ON ISSUES SUCH AS POVERTY, THE ORPHAN CRISIS, DEVELOPING COUNTRIES, VOLUNTEERISM, PHILANTHROPY, AND THE IMPORTANCE OF HELPING OTHERS.
