Liability for uncertain tax positions the project follows the accounting for uncertainty in income taxes accounting standard which requires the organization to determine whether a tax position (and the related tax benefit) is more likely than not to be sustained upon examination by the applicable taxing authority, based solely on the technical merits of the position. The project believes they have appropriate support for any tax positions taken, and as such, do not have any uncertain tax positions that are significant to the financial statements. The project's returns of organization exempt from income tax (forms 990) for the previous three years are subject to examination by the irs, generally for three years after initial filing.
