IRS990/ProgSrvcAccomActy3Grp/Desc0CENTER FOR FAITH IN COMMUNITIES - The Center for Faith in Communities (CFIC) seeks to inspire, educate, and equip faith-based organizations in their efforts to transform communities. CFIC seeks to discover best practices and models for addressing poverty in America. CFIC has led projects on financial literacy for low-income youth and community revitalization, among other efforts. CFIC also supports FASTEN, an online clearinghouse for groups involved in urban renewal.

IRS990/ProgSrvcAccomActyOtherGrp/Desc0Global Indiana - The Global Indiana center consists of initiatives focused on Africa and Trade Development to Asia. The Africa Portfolio includes a number of projects that address the role of government, business, and civil society in relief and development in sub-Saharan Africa. Our Africa portfolio is geared to changing the nature of the conversation surrounding foreign aid. The flagship of our Africa portfolio is a free market think tank based in Rwanda called ISOKO. Additionally, Sagamore is involved with several trade development initiatives that focus on China, Japan and South Korea.
IRS990/ProgSrvcAccomActyOtherGrp/Desc1Education Reform - As America's education system declines, the Organization has been in partnership with universities, schools, citizens and policymakers to uncover innovation and spotlight best practices to remedy the deficiency in America's school system. The Organization believes that the answers to America's education crisis starts when we begin equipping school leaders-teachers, principals, and administrators-to rise to a new level of professional excellence. The national conversations series has elevated this critical dialogue to a national level. We are also convinced that ultimate reform to America's educational system can only happen when we create better opportunities for every student. The Organization is providing critical support to schools that are serving high needs students and that are from at-risk environments.
IRS990/ProgSrvcAccomActyOtherGrp/Desc2Super City - During the 2012 Super Bowl, numerous developments occurred throughout Indianapolis. The Organization studied the impact of community development, sports and culture and the game itself on the city. Currently, Senior Fellow Dr. JoAnna Brown is working on the STELLAR Indiana project, which is a multi-year, initiative operated by the Indiana Lieutenant Governor's office and funded by three state agencies: the Indiana Housing and Community Economic Development Authority, the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs and the Indiana Department of Transportation. STELLAR's objective is to develop rural communities in Indiana. Other projects include the Blight Elimination Program and Mapping Indiana's Compassion.
IRS990/ProgSrvcAccomActyOtherGrp/Desc3SAGAMORE RENEWAL FUND - The Sagamore Renewal Fund advances enterprise solutions to poverty by offering strategic counsel, management solutions, and investment to companies and nonprofits repairing the broken places in society. It is composed of 3 aspects: research, consulting and investments featuring social impact and market-based economic returns.
IRS990/ProgSrvcAccomActyOtherGrp/Desc4CRIMINAL JUSTICE REFORM - Sagamore's criminal justice reform portfolio aims to help rescue and restore those hurt by crime and those whose criminal behavior hurt themselves and society. We are advancing new ideas for criminal justice policy reform and ground-breaking innovations. A key initiative is One Heart, a national collaborative initiative that provides mentors, education and training programs, and ancillary elements to incarcerated and probated youth, to equip them with the necessary tools and life skills.
IRS990/ProgSrvcAccomActyOtherGrp/Desc5THIRD CENTURY PROJECT - Sagamore Institute launched the Third Century Project at the 2016 Indiana Conference on Citizenship. To help make Indiana's third century its best yet, Sagamore seeks to build better citizens by (1) education teaching what it means to be a good citizen; (2) inspiration telling captivating citizen stories; and (3) engagement catalyzing strategic citizen initiatives.
