| IRS990ScheduleI/RecipientTable/PurposeOfGrantTxt | 1 | THIS GRANT WILL FUND THE PURCHASE OF 21 OCULUS QUEST 2 VIRTUAL REALITY (VR) HEADSETS TO PROVIDE VIRTUAL FIELD EXPERIENCES AND INVESTIGATIONS (VFES) TO STUDENTS. VFES ARE A REVOLUTIONARY WAY FOR TEACHERS TO TAKE STUDENTS PLACES THAT ARE LOGISTICALLY IMPOSSIBLE OTHERWISE. WHILE THEY CANNOT FULLY REPLACE THE FULL SENSORY EXPERIENCE GARNERED THROUGH ENVIRONMENTAL IMMERSION, MANY EDUCATIONAL STUDIES OF VFES HAVE DEMONSTRATED THEIR ABILITY TO CONVEY CRITICAL CONTENT AS EFFECTIVELY. THIS PROJECT SEEKS TO PROVIDE STUDENTS IN SHENANDOAH COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOLS AND STUDENTS FROM SCHOOLS SERVED THROUGH MASSANUTTEN REGIONAL GOVERNOR'S SCHOOL SUCH OPPORTUNITIES. BY COMBINING 360 IMAGERY-BASED VFES ALREADY CREATED WITH MOORE GRANT SUPPORT AND VR TECHNOLOGIES USING OCULUS QUEST 2 VR HEADSETS, STUDENTS CAN GO ANYWHERE AND BROADEN THEIR EXPERIENCE AND INVESTIGATION OF SUBJECT MATTER THROUGH EXCITING NEW PLACES. |
| IRS990ScheduleI/RecipientTable/PurposeOfGrantTxt | 2 | THIS GRANT WILL ALLOW THE ADDITION OF A ROCK BAND LAB AND MUSIC TECHNOLOGY LAB TO THE NORTHERN CAMPUS MUSIC PRODUCTION AND RECORDING TECHNOLOGY (MPRT) PROGRAM. THESE LABS WILL BE USED FOR STUDENT MUSIC CREATION AS WELL AS COLLABORATION IN SMALL GROUPS TO PRODUCE AND PUBLISH CONTENT. THE MISSION OF THE MPRT PROGRAM, NOW IN ITS THIRD YEAR, IS TO EXPLORE CAREERS AND DEVELOP SKILLS FOR POTENTIAL EMPLOYMENT WITHIN ALL ASPECTS OF THE MUSIC INDUSTRY. THERE ARE THREE "BUCKETS" TO FILL IN ORDER FOR THIS MODEL TO BE SUCCESSFUL: 1) CLASSROOM ARRANGEMENT, 2) MATHEMATICS COMMUNITY, AND 3) ROUTINES AND PROCEDURES. THE MODEL PROMOTES DIFFERENTIATION, ENGAGEMENT, AND COLLABORATIVE LEARNING. THIS GRANT WILL HELP CREATE A POSITIVE ENVIRONMENT IN WHICH STUDENTS FEEL SAFE TO EXPLORE MATHEMATICAL CONCEPTS AND DEVELOP A MATHEMATICAL MINDSET THAT SETS THEM UP FOR SUCCESS IN THE FUTURE. ONCE ESTABLISHED, THIS APPROACH HAS THE POTENTIAL TO BECOME A MODEL FOR OTHER MATH TEACHERS IN THE COUNTY TO FOLLOW AND IMPLEMENT. |
| IRS990ScheduleI/RecipientTable/PurposeOfGrantTxt | 4 | THIS GRANT WILL SUPPLY THE MATH DEPARTMENT AT STRASBURG HIGH SCHOOL AND TWO LEAD MATH TEACHERS AT SIGNAL KNOB MIDDLE SCHOOL WITH A 35" EGLASS TRANSPARENT WRITING GLASS FOR THEIR CLASSROOM, AS WELL AS ONE ADDITIONAL EGLASS FOR EACH SCHOOL TO BE PUT IN A COMMON AREA THAT WILL BE ACCESSIBLE TO ALL OTHER FACULTY. EGLASS ALLOWS TEACHERS TO DEMONSTRATE SKILLS AND STRATEGIES WHILE SIMULTANEOUSLY PROJECTING ON A BOARD AND RECORDING FOR LATER USE. THIS WILL HELP MATH TEACHERS PREP NEW AND ENGAGING LESSONS IN A HYBRID ENVIRONMENT. TEACHERS WILL SUBMIT AT LEAST TWO RECORDED LESSONS TO BE PLACED IN AN ONLINE MATH LIBRARY TO HELP STUDENTS WHO STRUGGLE WITH SKILLS WHEN NOT IN SCHOOL. THROUGHOUT THE PANDEMIC MANY MATH TEACHERS STRUGGLED TO FIND WAYS TO BE ABLE TO CONNECT TO THEIR STUDENTS WHILE MAKING SURE EACH STUDENT WAS ABLE TO SEE LIVE DEMONSTRATIONS OF CONCEPTS. EGLASS WOULD MAKE THE OBSTACLE SEAMLESS BY PROVIDING TEACHERS WITH A WAY TO INSTRUCT THE STUDENTS IN FRONT OF THEM, BOTH IN PERSON AND |

| IRS990ScheduleI/RecipientTable/PurposeOfGrantTxt | 6 | THIS GRANT WILL FUND THE PURCHASE OF MOBILE BOOKSHELVES AND CONNECTORS FOR THE MOUNTAIN VIEW HIGH SCHOOL LIBRARY.
