Any conflicts are reviewed by the board, and any resulting restriction voted on by members present at the meeting, excluding the member(s) concerned in the potential conflict.

Pt VI, Line 15A

In a previous base year, the hr committee reviewed salaries of aisd administrators and used that as a guide for setting compensation for the executive director. The committee then submitted the proposed salary to administaff (now insperity), who issued a "letter of reasonableness" supporting the amount. The board chair and the board member representing aisd then signed a letter documenting the determined salary amount. Each year since, the board interviews key personnel and compares with goals. Raises are determined based on the results of the evaluation in concert with consideration of the aisd fiscal environment and industry trends.

Pt VI, Line 19

INTERVENTIONS INCLUDE BUILDING STUDENT AWARENESS ON THE RELEVANCE OF THE COLLEGE EXPERIENCE AND PROVIDING ACADEMIC SUPPORT IN MATH, ENGLISH LANGUAGE ARTS, AND WRITING. TARGETED MIDDLE AND HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS WORK WITH AN APIE STAFF MEMBER IN REGULAR, ONGOING TUTORING SESSIONS FOCUSED ON CLOSING ACADEMIC GAPS AND PREPARING THEM TO SUCCEED ON THE TSI ASSESSMENT. -MATH CLASSROOM COACHING: PROVIDES ACADEMIC SUPPORT FOR MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS IN MATH BY TRAINING AND DEPLOYING HUNDREDS OF COMMUNITY VOLUNTEERS - OFTEN EMPLOYED IN STEM-RELATED FIELDS - WHO CONDUCT WEEKLY 45-MINUTE SMALL GROUP SESSIONS WITH 3-4 STUDENTS. COACHES SUPPORT THE ACQUISITION OF MATHEMATICAL SUBJECT KNOWLEDGE, PARTICULARLY AIMED TOWARDS PREPARING STUDENTS FOR HIGH SCHOOL LEVEL MATH. COACHES ALSO SHARE THEIR CAREER PATHS AND PROVIDE FEEDBACK TO STUDENTS AND ENCOURAGE POSITIVE ATTITUDES TOWARDS MATHEMATICS. -MENTORING PROGRAM: MORE THAN 450 VOLUNTEERS MEET ONE-ON-ONE WITH STUDENTS ON OVER 100 DISTRICT CAMPUSES IN WEEKLY MENTORING SESSIONS. MENTORING IS INDIVIDUALIZED TO MEET THE NEEDS OF EACH STUDENT AND CAN INCLUDE ACTIVITIES SUCH AS READING, DISCUSSING CAREERS, PREPARING COLLEGE APPLICATIONS, ACADEMIC TUTORING, AND DEVELOPING EFFECTIVE STUDY HABITS. AS A PARTNER IN AISD'S FEDERAL, SEVEN YEAR GEAR UP GRANT, APIE WILL PROVIDE TUTORING IN MATH AND READING TO 800 STUDENTS. FOUR YEARS REMAIN IN THE GRANT.
