A. To improve communities in and around the city of spartanburg by providing safe and affordable housing and a suitable living environment, principally for persons of low to very low incomes. B. The organization, as part of its mission, provides mortgages and lease purchase arrangements for affordable housing. Escrows are established for carrying costs such as property taxes and insurance and for closing costs assistance on lease purchases.

The organization believes that it is more likely than not that any significant tax positions would be sustained upon examination by the taxing authorities and it has not been subjected to any such examinations. Tax years ending in december 31, 2012, 2013, and 2014 remain subject to examination by the taxing authorities.
