This process directly engaged 80-100 citizens in each community, for a total of 320-400 participants. In addition to direct participants, each community engaged with an estimated 1,200 community audience members, for a total of 4,800 audience members. In one community, CPI worked within the elementary schools and engaged an additional 450 students in the community performance and story preservation process. The outcomes of these services include greater understanding and citizen participation around social justice issues including homelessness, racial divisions, immigration, economic adversity and gender equality. The long-term goal is to increase the impact and effectiveness of community development efforts by creating high-performance creative teams to engage in problem solving and implementation of development programs. |

Also in Tennessee, CPI worked with High School students to train them in the art of collecting and presenting community stories through film. |
