IRS990/Desc0In 2015 READ Ministries sponsored and conducted various Christian literature projects in Ukraine, Belarus and Central Asia involving the training of evangelical church workers and the distribution of Christian literature and media resources. Following is a summary of our programs in 2015:Literature Specialist Development and Book Distribution Program In 2015 READ continued to sponsor and support our Literature Specialist Development Programs in Ukraine and Belarus. These training programs take place over a two year period and are held at Regional Bible Colleges. Our programs include an expanded emphasis on counseling in order to equip graduates to meet growing stress-related needs during this troubled time in Ukraine. In the spring of 2015, READ was proud to witness the graduation of 19 Literature Specialists from our program in Minsk, Belarus. Our programs in Rivne and Zaporizhzhya, Ukraine continued through 2015 and will culminate in graduation of an additional 23 students in 2016. Since 2000, 439 students have graduated from our Literature Specialist Development programs. These students are from all parts of the former Soviet Union. A total of 127,500 books have been distributed to these students enabling them to start and continue a Christian book ministry within their respective churches. In this collection of books there are books for children, youth and adults. There are books for believers and non-believers. These libraries are helping believers and seekers find answers to their spiritual and practical questions. Seeking advice and suggestions from the Literature Specialist in solving a family, spiritual or personal problem is often the focus of the inquiry. In reality, the Literature Specialist often functions as a pastor especially to women. The Literature Specialist is essential for the successful operation and effectiveness of a church and its library ministry.In addition to the formal Literature Specialist Development program, in 2015 READ sponsored a Ukrainian-speaking Literature Specialist Conference in Rivne, Ukraine. The conference was attended by 60-70 Specialists. This conference is held each year to encourage and enrich Literature Specialists in their ministry. A selection of books was given to each attendee. READ also sponsored a conference for Russian-speaking Literature Specialists in Kremenchug, Ukraine. Approximately 100 Specialists attended the conference and were blessed with a gift of books upon completion of the conference.Church Leaders Training and Resourcing ProjectsA continued major emphasis for READ in 2015 was our Church Leaders Training and Resourcing Projects. READ was happy to provide a print-on-demand system for our partners at Tavrisky Christian Institute (TCI) in Kherson, Ukraine. This new print-on-demand system will enable TCI to provide printed books and libraries throughout their training programs in Ukraine and Central Asia. In addition to the new print-on-demand system, in 2015 READ was able to provide resources, both hard bound and digital, to 842 church leaders working in or being trained for ministry in various parts of Ukraine and Central Asia. These resources are providing church leaders with the theological tools and education to help communicate Gods love to those who are starved for His Word. In 2014 READ made a three-year commitment to equip and train 12 Ukrainians in a new cross-cultural missions training center at the Kremenchug Regional Bible College. This training continued throughout 2015. These students will graduate in 2017 and have been conducting cross-cultural missions within and beyond the borders of Ukraine.In 2015 READ was excited to sponsor a church leaders conference in Kazakhstan. The conference was attended by 70 graduates of Almaty Bible Institute. The theme of the conference was Life Long Learning. READ was able to resource the attendees with either a 50 volume hard-bound theological library or a laptop with a digital theological library of 20 books.Addi
