“The brinckerhoff elementary pta's mission, in common with those of the new york state pta and the national pta, is: a. To promote the welfare of children and youth in home, school, community, and place of worship. B. To raise the standards of home life. C. To secure adequate laws for the care and protection of children and youth. D. To bring into closer relation the home and the school, that parents and teacher may cooperate intelligently in the education of children and youth. E. To develop between educators and the general public such united efforts as will secure for all children and youth the highest advantages in physical, mental, social, and spiritual education.”

“Fifth grade activities: supplement the cost of fifth grade t-shirts, medieval times field trip, yearbook signing with pancake breakfast, field day and graduation celebrations for 100 fifth grade students at brinckerhoff elementary school. These events encompass 6 days. The objective of these events is to encourage class bonding, provide history and arts education and to celebrate the students years at the school.”

“Arts in education: ten educational assemblies encompassing 15 days were provided for 535 students grades kindergarten through fifth grade. The assemblies were performed in brinckerhoff elementary schools cafeteria and in the classrooms. The assemblies introduced students to anti-bullying, musical instruments and music from around the world, the world we live in and the stars surrounding us, scientific principles, and self esteem education through puppetry. The objective of theses assemblies is to expand the educational base that brinckerhoff elementary school provides in the classrooms.”

“Family picnic: the family picnic is held in june for brinckerhoff students and families on the brinckerhoff playground. The event runs for 1 day and includes barbeque dinner, snacks, music and entertainment, arts and crafts, beach ball games, hula hoop games, and chalk drawing. Over 775 people attended the picnic. The objective of this picnic is to create and develop the brinckerhoff community.”

“Brinckerhoff community: a fund to provide acknowledgment of brinckerhoff community members retirements, deaths, and aging out of the brinckerhoff pta. Faculty funding & staff assistance: supports extra teacher-directed projects in the classroom. Fiftieth anniversary celebration: funded brinckerhoffs 50th anniversary celebrations including the development of brinckerhoffs 50 year time line, development and presentation of the time capsule, and frames for murals depicting brinckerhoffs 50 years. Hospitality: refreshments for pta meetings. Ice cream social: ice cream event for k-5 students and their families. Parents as reading partners (parp): funds for reading events, incentives and rewards for k-5. Peggy mcgrath memorial: gift cards and certificates for 4 outstanding 5th graders who have helped the community. Science fair: participation certificates for 3rd and 4th graders presenting at brinckerhoffs 3rd and 4th grade science fair and registration fee for 5th graders participating in the district science fair. Staff appreciation: funds for back-to-school breakfast, holidays, year-end luncheon student recognition: funds for star student buttons, certificates, photos and ice cream for k-5 students nominated by teachers for being good students talent show: funds for sound crew, stage hands and trophies for k-5 talent show participants volunteer appreciation: end of year dinner and gifts for pta volunteer chairs”
