“St. Bartholomew's conservancy has its form 990 prepared by an outside accounting firm and has established the following review process to ensure that the information reported is complete and accurate. When the form 990 has been prepared, reviewed by the audit committee and is ready to be filed with the internal revenue service, it is electronically sent to the board members of the organization for their review.”
“The conflict of interest policy of st. Bartholomew's conservancy, inc. (the "corporation") is applicable to all directors, officers, employees, and others who have the ability to exercise substantial influence over the corporation. The designated audit committee of the board oversees compliance with the conflict of interest policy. If a potential conflict were to arise, the interested person must disclose all material facts to the board of directors of the audit committee, in a written statement or orally at a meeting of the board, and such oral disclosure is documented in the minutes of the meeting. The interested person is precluded from being present at or participating in any board or committee deliberation or vote related to the transaction or arrangement, giving rise to a conflict of interest. After the interested persons disclosure of the existence of and all material facts, the audit committee shall discuss and make a recommendation to the board as to each of the determinations required. If the transaction or arrangement is one in which the interested person has a substantial financial interest, the board of directors considers alternatives and subsequently makes a decision on the transaction or arrangement by a majority vote. All actual or possible conflicts of interest are documented in the minutes of the board meeting at which such determinations are made. Each member of the board, officer, member of a committee with powers delegated by the board of directors and key employee shall annually submit to the chair of the audit committee the written statement disclosing the existence of any potential or actual conflict of interests.”

THE CONSERVANCY ALSO FUNDED ILLUMINATION OF THE GREAT DOME. THE FOCUS CONTINUES ON THE PARK AVENUE WEST FACADE WITH THE REMARKABLE TRIPLE PORTAL DESIGNED IN 1901 BY STANFORD WHITE OF MCKIM, MEAD, AND WHITE AS A MEMORIAL TO CORNELIUS VANDERBILT II. THE BRONZE DOORS AND FRIEZES ARE EXTRAORDINARY WORKS OF ART DESIGNED AND EXECUTED BY LEADING SCULPTORS OF THEIR DAY: PHILIP MARTINY, HERBERT ADAMS, AND ANDREW O'CONNOR, WITH ADVICE AND SUPERVISION BY DANIEL CHESTER FRENCH. IN 1918 THE PORTAL WAS MOVED SECTION BY SECTION FROM THE CONGREGATION'S PREVIOUS MADISON AVENUE LOCATION AND PROVIDED THE DEFINING CONDITION FOR BERTRAM GOODHUE'S OVERALL ROMANESQUE DESIGN OF THE NEW CHURCH BUILDING.IN 2024 THE CONSERVANCY CONTINUED THE WORK ON THE CONSERVATION EVALUATION OF THE TRIPLE PORTAL AND RELATED ENTRYWAY OF ST. BARTHOLOMEW'S CHURCH. INVESTIGATIONS RANGED FROM SCIENTIFIC ANALYSIS OF MATERIALS THE ORGANIZATION OF THE TRIPLE PORTAL'S ARCHITECTURAL FEATURES, NEGATIVE EFFECTS OF POLLUTION ON THE PORTAL OVER THE YEARS, THE CASTING OF THE BRONZE DOORS, AND THE EARLY (UNSUCCESSFUL) REPAIRS MADE ON THE CIPOLLINO MARBLE COLUMNS. THIS WORK CULMINATED IN A COMPREHENSIVE CONSERVATION EVALUATION SUMMARY REPORT SUBMITTED BY EXCELSIOR ART SERVICES WITH RECOMMENDED TREATMENTS FOR CONSERVATION AND PRESERVATION. THESE TREATMENTS WILL BE TESTED BY THE PROJECT'S LEAD CONSERVATOR TO DETERMINE THE BEST APPROACHES.A NATIONAL SEARCH FOR THE LEAD CONSERVATOR FOR TRIPLE PORTAL CONSERVATION WAS SUCCESSFULLY UNDERTAKEN IN 2024. FOLLOWING A NATIONAL REQUEST FOR QUALIFICATIONS, ST. BARTHOLOMEW'S CONSERVANCY AND ST. BARTHOLOMEW'S CHURCH JOINTLY SELECTED AMANDA TRIENENS AS THE TRIPLE PORTAL CONSERVATION PROJECT'S LEAD CONSERVATOR. MS. TRIENENS, FOUNDING PRINCIPAL OF CULTURAL HERITAGE CONSERVATION LLC (CHC), HAS MORE THAN 20 YEARS OF FIELD EXPERIENCE WORKING ON HISTORIC STRUCTURES, MONUMENTS, AND SCULPTURES. THE FIRM'S OVERARCHING GOAL IS TO ENSURE THE LONGEVITY OF OUR SHARED CULTURAL HERITAGE WHILE ATTENDING TO THE NEEDS OF EXPECTATIONS OF A SPECTRUM OF CLIENTS. PHILOSOPHICALLY, CHC PROJECTS ARE KNOWN FOR EMBRACING (I) MAXIMUM RETENTION OF ORIGINAL MATERIALS, (II) (RECOMMENDING REPAIRS WHOSE DURABILITY DERIVES FROM BEING MECHANICALLY COMPATIBLE WITH THOSE MATERIALS; (III) SPECIFYING CONSERVATION TREATMENTS THAT ARE BOTH EFFECTIVE AND MINIMALLY INVASIVE, AND (IV) DRAWING ATTENTION TO THE PUBLIC SIGNIFICANCE OF HERITAGE CONSERVATION PROJECTS.
