Mission

Asphalt green, inc. Is a not-for-profit sports organization dedicated to assisting individuals of all ages and backgrounds to achieve health through a lifetime of sports and fitness. Asphalt green has two campuses: one on the upper east side ("ag") and the other in battery park city ("agbpc"). The ag campus includes the george and annette murphy center; the aqua center (which houses new york city's first indoor, olympic-sized pool open to the community at large); a superturf playing field; dekovats park; and sundial plaza. Formed in 1972 in new york city, asphalt green converted an abandoned municipal asphalt plant into a sports and arts center with two gymnasiums; basketball courts; and an indoor running track. Programs for young people are designed to challenge the intellectual, creative and physical abilities of the participants. The city of new york retains ownership of the ag campus and asphalt green is responsible for equipping, operating and maintaining the facilities. The agbpc

Other Program Services

Other program services includes the following: 1) facilities rental - includes the rental of the pool, gym, theatre, studios and astroturf field. Benefited approximately 7,167 people per year. 2)the agbpc facility formally began its operations in june 2013 under an amended management-services agreement (the "march, 2013 agreement"). Under this march, 2013 agreement, bpca leased to asphalt green the premises as defined in the agreement. The premises are leased for a term of approximately ten years, which started on may 1, 2013 and will end in june 2023, or on the last day of any renewed terms. Rental payment will be based on a fee structure that uses a percentage of agpbc's operating revenue and will begin on july 1, 2018. The estimated future minimum rental payments, through fiscal-year 2023, is approximately $669,000. In addition, asphalt green will receive $225,000 per year for operating expenses related to the premises for the first three years of operation. For each of the fiscal-years 2015 and 2014, asphalt green received $225,000 and this was reported as other income in the statement of activities.

PARTS V, #4 AND X, #2

Part v, #4 to provide a predictable stream of funding to programs supported by its endowment while seeking to maintain the purchasing power of the endowment assets. Part x, #2 asphalt green adopted the provisions of the financial accounting standards board's (the "fasb") accounting standards codification ("asc") topic 740 income taxes, as it relates to accounting and reporting for uncertainty in income taxes. For asphalt green, asc topic 740 is potentially applicable to the incurrence of unrelated business income ("ubi") attributable to the rental of certain facilities. However, asc topic 740 has not had, and is not expected to have, a material impact on asphalt green's financial statements.
