“Job path, inc. Has its form 990 prepared by an outside accounting firm and has established the following review process to ensure that the information reported is complete and accurate. When the form 990 has been prepared, reviewed by management and is ready to be filed with the internal revenue service, it is electronically sent to the director of finance of the organization. The director of finance will then electronically send the completed draft to each of the members of the finance committee. The committee will review and provide comments and any suggested changes. After making any changes required after review by the finance committee, the form 990 will be sent to each member of the board of trustees at least five business days before filing the form 990.”
“If a board member believes that they have a conflict, they must disclose it to the board chair, which will be reflected in the minutes of the board meeting. A person who has a conflict of interest shall not participate in the board's or committee's discussion of the matter except to disclose material facts and to respond to questions. A vote will then take place among the disinterested board members to determine if the organization should proceed with the arrangement. If a key employee has a conflict of interest, they shall disclose this conflict to the executive director and the board chair, and appropriate measures will be taken. Each director and key employee shall annually sign and submit a statement which affirms such person has received a copy of the conflict of interest policy and has agreed to comply with the policy.”
“In advance of the review of compensation by the job path board of trustees, job path's compliance officer prepared a review of the total remuneration provided to the executive director and other highly compensated staff. The review included the use of guidestar to select comparable organizations and the review of the most recent forms 990 filed by these organizations. In addition, the compliance officer compared compensation and benefits information from the 2018 non-profit salary report published by the non-profit coordinating committee. This review was independent of any job path staff and was provided directly to the board of trustees. The board reviewed the report at a meeting held on july 10, 2019 which was documented in minutes for the meeting. The board accepted and determined, based on the review, that the compensation for all top managers at job path was reasonable.”
“The organization makes its form 990 available for public inspection as required under section 6104 of the internal revenue code. | IRS990/ProgSrvcAccomActy2Grp/Desc | 0 | EMPLOYMENTEMPLOYMENT SERVICES ARE AT THE HEART OF OUR WORK, BECAUSE PEOPLE WITH DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES ARE STILL VIRTUALLY EXCLUDED FROM THE WORKFORCE. NATIONWIDE, ONLY ABOUT 20% OF PEOPLE WITH DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES ARE EMPLOYED. CUSTOMIZED EMPLOYMENT STRATEGIES PROVIDE THE FOUNDATION FOR OUR WORK. THESE STRATEGIES PINPOINT THE SKILLS AND TALENTS EVEN PEOPLE WITH THE MOST COMPLEX SUPPORT NEEDS CAN BRING TO THE WORKFORCE AND PROVIDE WAYS TO WORK WITH BUSINESSES THAT "CUSTOMIZE" JOBS THAT WORK FOR BOTH THE JOB SEEKER AND THE EMPLOYER. WE'VE FOUND THESE STRATEGIES TO BE EFFECTIVE: ABOUT 85% OF OUR ENROLLEES ARE PLACED IN JOBS THAT ARE WELL-MATCHED TO THEIR ABILITIES AND INTERESTS AND ABOUT 85% OF THOSE PLACED REMAIN IN THEIR JOBS FOR A YEAR OR LONGER. JOB PATH'S EMPLOYMENT PROGRAMS SUPPORTED ABOUT 300 INDIVIDUALS THIS PAST YEAR.IN ADDITION, JOB PATH SPEARHEADS THE CONSORTIUM FOR CUSTOMIZED EMPLOYMENT, A GROUP OF 13 ORGANIZATIONS THAT SUPPORT JOB SEEKERS WITH DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES. THE CONSORTIUM HAS DEVELOPED A NETWORK OF MORE THAN 60 NEW YORK CITY BUSINESSES THAT USE CUSTOMIZED EMPLOYMENT STRATEGIES TO HIRE CANDIDATES FROM THE GROUP. THIS PAST YEAR, JOB PATH ALSO IMPLEMENTED PILOT PROJECTS TO PROVIDE CUSTOMIZED SUMMER INTERNSHIPS FOR SPECIAL EDUCATION STUDENTS AND TO OFFER CAREER ADVANCEMENT SERVICES TO PEOPLE WHO ARE WORKING, BUT WOULD LIKE TO EXPAND THEIR SKILLS AND/OR EARN MORE MONEY. |

THE LIFE COACHING BRANCH OF THIS PROGRAM SPECIALIZES IN SUPPORTS FOR YOUNG PEOPLE WITH AUTISM, A NUMBER OF WHOM ARE ENROLLED IN COMMUNITY OR FOUR-YEAR COLLEGES, WHERE THEY ARE ASSISTED BY PEER MENTORS. THE PROGRAM OFFERS GROUP ACTIVITIES AS WELL INCLUDING A WEEKLY MEETUP FOR ARTISTS, A WOMEN'S GROUP AND A NEWLY DEVELOPED MAKEUP CLASS THAT WE LAUNCHED IN PARTNERSHIP WITH SEPHORA. |
