Activity 2

Climate and energy funders group -- more than 100 funders attended the 2012 climate & energy funders group (cefg) annual meeting in new york, featuring keynote speaker lisa jackson of the epa and a reception hosted by mayor michael bloomberg. We convened a series of high-impact regional meetings that brought funders together around regional priorities, which enabled us to connect with funders in the northeast, northwest, and the southeast, identify priority opportunities, and facilitate funder collaboration. We conducted 14 webinars in 2012 with topics ranging from the "impacts of low-cost natural gas" to "extreme weather communications."

Activity 3

Gulf of california funders -- the cgbd gulf of california program sustained an active calendar of conferences and webinars. A series of workshops focusing on security awareness and risk mitigation launched in 2012, coordinated by cgbd in partnership with the international community foundation. In addition, a gathering of funders and grantees included training on how to improve overall grant administration, reporting and compliance. Cgbd launched a "micro-site" about the goc initiative at http://cgbd.org/goc, highlighting the work of funders and ngos in this environmentally sensitive region. Fully bilingual, the site is intended to assist prospective funders with identifying key ngos, agencies, and prospective funding partners in their specific areas of interest.
