Learning through an expanded arts program, inc. (leap) is a nonprofit educational services organization committed to improving the quality of public education through a hands-on, arts-based approach to teaching the academic curriculum. Leap aims to instill a love of learning in all students and empower them to reach their full potential.

PART X, LINE 2:

Leap is a not-for-profit corporation as described in section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code and is exempt from federal and state income taxes. Leap recognizes the effect of income tax positions only when they are more likely than not to be sustained. Management has determined that leap has no uncertain tax positions that would require financial statement recognition or disclosure. Leap is no longer subject to examinations by the applicable taxing jurisdictions for periods prior to june 30, 2012.

AN ADDITIONAL 75,000 STUDENTS HAVE BENEFITED FROM ALLL'S TEACHING STRATEGIES BECAUSE 96% OF PARTICIPATING TEACHERS CONTINUE TO USE ALLL STRATEGIES IN SUBSEQUENT YEARS. IN 2014-15, THE PROGRAM SERVED 42 SCHOOLS FOR A TOTAL OF 1680 SESSIONS REACHING 4079 STUDENTS AND 200 TEACHERS.AFTERSCHOOL- DEPARTMENT OF YOUTH AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT (DYCD) - SCHOOLS OUT NEW YORK CITY (SONYC) PROGRAM:LEAP RAN AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAMS IN SIX MIDDLE SCHOOLS FUNDED THOUGH DYCD AND MAYOR DE BLASIO'S MIDDLE-SCHOOL INITIATIVE (SONYC). THE PROGRAM SERVED 785 STUDENTS IN MIDDLE SCHOOLS IN BROOKLYN (MS 51 AND MS 88) AND THE BRONX (MS 22, MS 125, MS 129, MS 228). THE PROGRAM OPERATED FOR 540 HOURS, FIVE DAYS A WEEK FOR 36 WEEKS DURING THE SCHOOL YEAR.
