The program dramatically increases the number of students taking and passing ap math, science and english exams and expands acess to traditionally under-represented students. Since 2008, nmsi's college readiness program has been implemented in more than 620 schools across 26 states and the district of columbia.”

“Part iii: statement of program service accomplishments part iii: question 4b - description of program achievements uteach program nmsi's uteach program enables students majoring in math, science, computer science, or engineering to receive full teaching certification without adding time or cost to their stem degrees. This program was developed at the university of texas at austin and transforms the way colleges and universities recruit, prepare and inspire stem majors so that they pursue a teaching career. The program has grown from 1,100 math and science majors in the first cohort to more than 6,000 students on 34 campuses. In 2013, nmsi expanded the uteach program to seven new campuses.”

“Part iii: statement of program service accomplishments part iii: question 4c - description of program achievements laying the foundation (ltf) our three year ltf teacher training program for teachers of grades 3-12, gives math, science and english teachers content-based pedagogy-driven, teacher to teacher training. We help educators with teaching strategies and content knowledge that increase rigor in the classroom and are deeply aligned to common core state standards. Our ltf training is designed by expert teachers for teachers of any level, and provides rigorous, online classroom ready lessons and classroom ready tools.”

“Part vi: section a. Governing body and management part vi: question 11b - the organization engages a paid preparer experienced in the preparation of form 990 to prepare the form. Once the 990 is completed in draft form, it is reviewed by national math and science initiative's cfo and presented to the audit committee members for their review. After the 990 has been finalized and approved by the audit committee, a copy is provided to the full board of directors, prior to filing.”

Policies part vi: question 12c - national math and science initiative has established a conflict of interest policy which has been reviewed and approved by the board of directors. All officers, directors, and key employees of national math and science initiative are required to sign and return an annual compliance statement, which requires the disclosure of any conflict. Part vi: question 15 - national math and science initiative has a compensation committee of the board of directors which reviews and approves the compensation of the organization's officers. The compensation committee uses salary data from published compensation surveys of non-profit organizations to determine the appropriate compensation for the national math and science initiative's officers. The organization retains the comparability data, along with documentation of the compensation committee's review and decisions.”
