“Continued description of mission from part iii, line 1: in addition to championing the preservation and creation of greenspaces, the conservancy provides educational, technical and financial support regarding land acquisition, property development, and utilization of parks, trails, public spaces. Line 4a, program service accomplishments: the conservancy aided efforts for usable river-view greenspace at old riverside drive, and has engaged with the city of sandy springs and others to expand and improve allen road park to better serve the surrounding neighborhood. After groundbreaking on the first segment, we continued to provide expertise and community leadership for additional segments of the city of sandy springs trail master plan. The conservancy's community respresentation to the chattahoochee riverlands focused on increasing access via trails and new parks to the chattahoochee river. The conservancy conducted monthly trail blazers walks at parks in sandy springs from march through november 2022. Participants reflected the diversity of our community in age, income and race. We promote interest in our city's greenspaces at other community engagement opportunities. Line 4b, program service accomplishments: 2022's micro projects enhanced existing parks with needed public amenities and added safety with the support of our corporate donors. The conservancy paid for the supplies and materials used in 2022's projects. Bsa troop 372 planted over 30 native azaleas along the walkway leading to the cottage at lost corner preserve in sandy springs. Troop 370 repaired and expanded landscaping steps leading to the north lakeside trail at morgan falls park. The previous steps had rotted away and the trail suffered from a significant amount of erosion. The conservancy continued trail and park clean-ups, engaging community volunteers through "volunteer for a better sandy springs" day of service. Line 4c, program service accomplishments: we reestablished our thought leaders dinner in 2022. The dinner is a catalyst for community understanding of the value of parks and trails. It provides inspiration and ideas for greenspace cultivation to community leaders, city decision makers and business people. The 2022 dinner's keynote speaker was george dusenbury, of the trust for public land. We conducted hide and seek activity at 3 parks as an educational program for children. It encouraged individuals and families to visit local parks and connect with nature.”

THE CONSERVANCY'S COMMUNITY RESPRESENTATION TO THE CHATTAHOOCHEE RIVERLANDS FOCUSED ON INCREASING ACCESS VIA TRAILS AND NEW PARKS TO THE CHATTAHOOCHEE RIVER. THE CONSERVANCY CONDUCTED MONTHLY TRAIL BLAZERS WALKS AT PARKS IN SANDY SPRINGS FROM MARCH THROUGH NOVEMBER 2022. PARTICIPANTS REFLECTED THE DIVERSITY OF OUR COMMUNITY IN AGE, INCOME AND RACE. WE PROMOTE INTEREST IN OUR CITY'S GREENSPACES AT OTHER COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT OPPORTUNITIES. LINE 4B, PROGRAM SERVICE ACCOMPLISHMENTS: 2022'S MICRO PROJECTS ENHANCED EXISTING PARKS WITH NEEDED PUBLIC AMENITIES AND ADDED SAFETY WITH THE SUPPORT OF OUR CORPORATE DONORS. THE CONSERVANCY PAID FOR THE SUPPLIES AND MATERIALS USED IN 2022'S PROJECTS. BSA TROOP 372 PLANTED OVER 30 NATIVE AZALEAS ALONG THE WALKWAY LEADING TO THE COTTAGE AT LOST CORNER PRESERVE IN SANDY SPRINGS. TROOP 370 REPAIRED AND EXPANDED LANDSCAPING STEPS LEADING TO THE NORTH LAKESIDE TRAIL AT MORGAN FALLS PARK. THE PREVIOUS STEPS HAD ROTTED AWAY AND THE TRAIL SUFFERED FROM A SIGNIFICANT AMOUNT OF EROSION. THE CONSERVANCY CONTINUED TRAIL AND PARK CLEAN-UPS, ENGAGING COMMUNITY VOLUNTEERS THROUGH "VOLUNTEER FOR A BETTER SANDY SPRINGS" DAY OF SERVICE. LINE 4C, PROGRAM SERVICE ACCOMPLISHMENTS: WE REESTABLISHED OUR THOUGHT LEADERS DINNER IN 2022. THE DINNER IS A CATALYST FOR COMMUNITY UNDERSTANDING OF THE VALUE OF PARKS AND TRAILS.
