Stage one: apprentice program a job program for boston high school students, in collaboration with the city of bostons department of youth engagement & employment. Engagement programs: community engagement - focused on expanding our network by building long- term relationships with community partners, both individuals and organizations. The program offers the following programming: ?our american stories: boston (un)documented - this season, playwright david valdes and c1 will work with boston residents in the sharing of their undocumented (and dacamented) experiences. Through one-on-one interviews, community forums, and small gatherings, we'll take in the diverse perspectives that tell the story of this moment in our city. Including populations whose immigration experiences vary by culture, origin, and path to legal status, we'll listen as community narratives define themselves. Artivist activated: a neighborhood-driven series of conversations that connects artists, activists, organizers and community members who are interested in igniting change in boston. Onerush - a diverse group of local college students who see cultural programming as a way to bridge through production related college-focused events. They identify broader issues around equity and inclusion that are occurring across campuses that they can use their collective leverage to have a social impact. Connectivity - focused on managing, curating, and creating opportunities for connections between the work on our stages, the concerns of our producing collective, our audiences, and our community at large. They are responsible for creating and developing relationships with community partners who are directly connected to issues and themes present in our production work. Specific projects include, but are not limited to: community building events bringing together production artists, staff, board and community partners to engage with the first moments of the rehearsal process. The play will be read, dramaturgy will present on relevant themes and community discussion will be curated. Post-show conversations and engagement events: dialogues that engage participants in conversations following our stage performances centered around exploring the issues addressed in the material. Lobby design and lobby activities: interactive displays that offer different styles of contextual information, including visual, interactive video, participant response installations and partner resources. These take on social justice, artistic, and social lenses and offer impact opportunities beyond the performance. Blogs, social media & production programs: these three tools offer insight into the artistic process, background information on programming, the individuals involved, the issues the work engages and information related to community partners.
