Mission

Pajama program's mission is to promote equitable access to healthy sleep so all children thrive.

The Pajama Program,Inc. provides pajamas and books to children in need. In 2014, more than235,000 pairs of pajamas and 230,000 books were distributed.The organization endeavors to encourage an appreciation of reading among its children by holding readings from two to three times a week. The children in attendance range in age from three to seventeen years.

“The corporation is a qualified not-for-profit organization exempt from Federal income taxes under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and from state and local taxes under comparable laws. Accordingly, it is not subject to income taxes except to the extent it has taxable income from activities that are not related to its exempt purpose. The corporation recognizes the effect of income tax positions only if those positions are more likely than not of being sustained. No provision for income taxes was required for the year 2014. The corporation believes it is no longer subject to tax examinations for years prior to 2012.”

IRS990/MissionDesc0The Pajama Program, Inc. provides new pajamas and new books to children in need, many of whom are waiting and hoping to be adopted. Thousands of the children who are served live in orphanages , group homes and shelters. They are often shuffled between temporary living facilities. Many have been abused or abandoned and never have enjoyed the simple comfort of having a mother or father tuck them in at bed time and read to them. Since 2002 the organization has provided more than one million pajamas and books to children in need, nationwide.
