“The weare athletic club is organized to provide recreational sports to the children, primarily ages four to sixteen, of weare nh in the sports of baseball, softball, basketball, soccer, and cheer. Sportsmanship and team building skills are stressed over winning.”
“The baseball/softball/t-ball program was held during the spring of 2016. Our softball program purchased an outdoor batting cage to use at our softball field. This has helped our program increase our batting skills. We also started to build a storage shed/concession stand building on our softball field to replace two older sheds that are unable to be repaired. We had several baseball and softball teams participate in playoffs and many members of our program participated in the all-star team as well. Our t- ball program grew this past year as well, we were able to have six teams play each other in our in-house program.”
“The basketball program held during the winter of 2016 continues into 2017. We had another successful basketball season, having teams from pre-k through sixth grade. Several teams made it to the playoffs as well as a team winning a championship in their division. Our pre-k and kindergarten team continued to be successful with four teams, this focuses on the basic skills and really prepares them to move forward in our basketball program.”
“The soccer program was held during the fall of 2016. The soccer program hosted its first opening day parade. We had over 200 participants march to our soccer field for an opening ceremony where we introduced each team on the field. We had a great season with a record number of kindergarten through second grade players, which is our in-house program where we play teams only from our organization in town.”
“This was our second year having a field hockey program and it was very successful. It continued to grow and we had over 50 girls participate in this program. We had enough girls to form a middle school aged team and we competed against other middle school teams in the area. In 2014, the weare athletic club re-introduced its cheer program to the community. Participation included girls in first grade through 4th grade.”
