Mission

The housing partnership (thp) is a nonprofit agency founded in 1988 in response to a housing crisis in the seacoast region of new hampshire. Our mission is to strengthen communities by creating diverse housing opportunities, utilizing innovative approaches to development and stewardship of our housing.

Homeward bound - a free and community-based comprehensive homebuyer education program offered in the seacoast region of new hampshire. It is the only hud-certified homebuyer education program offered in the seacoast region. The 8-hour program teaches the steps necessary for successful homeownership. It prepares graduates to navigate the potential pitfalls of the home buying process. Graduates gain access to transitional bank financing, as well as satisfying the requirements of many income-restricted loan programs. The program also offers tips on establishing and saving for a down payment, improving credit score, shopping for a home, securing a mortgage, getting a home inspection, closing the sale and keeping a home and managing finances. In addition, the program offers appointments for individual counseling.

Transitional resident services - located in rochester, nh, transitional housing includes 4 units with 3 bedrooms and 8 units with 2 bedrooms in 4 separate buildings built in 1901, 1921, and 1996. The buildings are located at 29 chestnut street, 10 harvard street, 34 lafayette street and 69 lafayette street. The size of the housing units to be improved totals 11,090 square feet. The residents who occupy the project are required to be formerly homeless households in which a family member has a disability. Rent and utility allowance is based on household monthly income, if any. Supportive services are also provided to residents, including case management, life and safety skills, financial and budgeting skills and emergency financial assistance.
