Activity 2

Children and Youth Services performed include: 402 children received high-quality, developmentally appropriate childcare and education so parents could work or attend school; 4,705 children, adolescents, and adults received quality dental and orthodontic care; 12 foster children with emotional and behavioral difficulties were placed in supportive foster homes; 180 children with mental illness, mental retardation, and developmental disorders received case management services to help them best utilize strengths in their family and community resources.

Activity 3

Specialized Community Services performed include: 18,806 individuals and families in Aroostook County were provided with food assistance; 1,054 refugees resettling in Maine received help finding housing, jobs, and referrals to available services; 2,030 individuals and businesses statewide received language interpretation and translation services; 857 individuals found compassionate support during an unplanned pregnancy, managing post-abortion grief, or dealing with the pain of being divorced or separated; 107 adults received education, training, and support to help them establish and maintain employment; 1,120 individuals and families dealing with issues related to drugs or alcohol addiction received support and counseling services; 2,736 elderly and disabled individuals were able to remain living independently in their home with the support of a homemaker or volunteer companion; 297 blind and visually impaired children received the resources services they needed to succeed; 7,210 children were provided with nutritious meals and snacks by their child care providers through the USDA Food Program; and 189 individuals were provided with access to licensed counselors who integrate faith into their work.
