Relief: Japan Tsunami, March 2011: WorldHarvest USA coordinate fund raising in United States for Japan Earthquake and Tsunami Relief Effort. Together with WorldHarvest Japan, we were able to donate and do the following:1 Distribute 3,600+ diapers for adult and baby, 168 socks, jackets, pants, sweaters, shirts; 140 kg of rice, 385 noodle cups, 425 liter of juice, water, and sport drink; 164 boxes of milk, baby milk, and snacks; 400 cans of food and 200 cans of fresh fruits; 80 boxes of eggs; 323 boxes of Kleenex; 417 pieces of First Aid (including mask); 43 boxes of daily needs such as tooth brush, detergent, soap; 14 pieces of shovel; 20 pairs of Long Boots; 164 boxes of various spices (salt, cooking oil, sugar, nori, tea bag), sleeping bag, toys; 72 boxes of antiseptic medicine; and 3 unit of Power Water Spray. 2 Help cleaning the victims' houses and their neighborhood so they could go home sooner. Our team also got invaluable opportunity to serve, encourage, and pray for them. Our relief effort has created a long lasting impact in their heart - they were very grateful to receive our donation and support. Somalia Disaster Relief, October and November 2011:World Harvest USA raised fund to help Somalia Famine victims. Our team went to Garbatulla, Banane and Tokojoo in Northeastern Kenya, near the border with Somalia. We delivered the following: Medical Relief:Provide medical services to 578 persons (children below 5 years of age accounted for 47.7% of all patients seen). A total of 3 patients were referred to Modogashe hospital and Garissa Provincial Hospitals for further medical care (laboratory investigations and acute treatment). Administer Oral Rehydration Salts (ORS) and improve children health condition; leave several sachets of ORS for mothers to be given to the children later. Food Distribution:Provide food distribution to the needs of approximately 3 communities (1,300 families in total). Considering an average family size of approximately 4-6, the food aid reached the needs of thousands of people. Each bag of the relief food supply is 30 kg and consisted of: rice, beans, oil, and wheat-flour.
