LA Voice teaches people and congregations to speak, act, and engage in the public arena. It is our mission to transform Los Angeles into a city that reflects the human dignity of all communities, especially those in greatest need. Since 2000, LA Voice has successfully worked to increase access to food in poor communities, make neighborhoods safer, naturalize citizens, build affordable housing and mobilize infrequent voters in low-income communities. We work in 25 congregations throughout the city and continue to develop hundreds of leaders every year. We are part of the PICO National Network, the largest grassroots, faith-based organizing network in the United States. The PICO National Network works with 1,000 religious congregations in more than 200 cities and towns through its 60 local and state federations. In 2012, LA Voice trained over 350 leaders and clergy in the communities it serves. |
