The organization reviews its conflict of interest policy annually with all board members and staff. Board members and officers are required to sign a conflict of interest policy annually. The organization has current and up-to-date signed forms for all board members and officers. The cfo/coo is responsible for ensuring all board members comply with the policy. All conflicts are brought to the attention of the chairman of the board for appropriate processing.

The board finance committee acting as the compensation committee reviews the compensation of the ceo on an annual basis. The committee uses comparable data from the center for nonprofit management and other resources to determine the compensation. The committee prepares a recommendation for increase or decrease in compensation which is then presented to the executive committee for approval independently, without the participation of intersted persons. The ceo and the finance committee determine the compensation of the coo & cfo based on the compensation of comparable positions in the los angeles market.

LOCATED AT PROBATION CAMP DAVID GONZALES IN THE MALIBU MOUNTAINS, CEE HOPE HAS SERVED MORE THAN 900 MALE PROBATION YOUTH SINCE THE PROGRAM'S INCEPTION. THE PROGRAM PROVIDES BOTH EFFECTIVE IN-CAMP EDUCATIONAL RESOURCES AND RE-ENTRY SUPPORTIVE SERVICES FOR 75 MALE PROBATIONERS, AGES 14-17, EACH YEAR. - IN-CAMP: PARTICIPANTS ATTEND CLASSES TO ENHANCE THEIR EDUCATION, SOCIAL SKILLS AND COPING SKILLS. - RE-ENTRY: NEW ROADS FOR NEW VISIONS BEGINS WORKING WITH PROBATION PARTICIPANTS 60 DAYS PRIOR TO THEIR RELEASE FROM CAMP AND CONTINUES TO WORK WITH THEM FOR UP TO SIX MONTHS AND/ OR UNTIL THEY SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETE THEIR TERMS OF PROBATION.THE STATISTICAL OUTCOMES CITED BELOW TELL JUST PART OF THE STORY OF HUNDREDS OF BOYS WHOSE LIVES HAVE BEEN TRANSFORMED DUE TO THE EDUCATION THAT WAS PROVIDED, THE HOPE WAS RESTORED, AND THE POSITIVE ALTERNATIVES TO WHICH THEY WERE CAREFULLY GUIDED. - RECIDIVISM: THE RECIDIVISM RATE FOR YOUTH PARTICIPATING IN THE PROGRAM IS 18%, WHICH IS FAR BELOW THE 70% RATE REPORTED BY THE CALIFORNIA'S DIVISION OF JUVENILE JUSTICE. -EDUCATIONAL ENHANCEMENTS: 171 PARTICIPANTS HAVE TAKEN AND PASSED THE GED EXAM REPRESENTING AN 81% PASSING RATE!

WE CONTINUE TO WORK IN LENNOX, CREATING PILOT PROGRAMS THAT CAN BECOME SCALABLE MODELS FOR IMPROVING EDUCATIONAL OUTCOMES IN THE COMMUNITY. C/ FORWARD GUIDES SECONDARY STUDENTS TOWARDS THE GOAL OF ATTENDING AND COMPLETING COLLEGE, AND SO ASSISTS WITH COLLEGE SELECTION, APPLICATION, AND TRANSITION. ONCE IN COLLEGE, STUDENTS CONTINUE TO RECEIVE SUPPORT SERVICES THAT SCHOLARSHIPS AND FINANCIAL AID DO NOT COVER.ONLY 50% OF FOSTER YOUTH GRADUATE FROM HIGH SCHOOL NATIONALLY. OUR PROGRAM GOAL IS TO ACHIEVE A HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATION RATE OF 75% OR BETTER. C/ FORWARD'S 2012 CUMULATIVE GRADUATION RATE SINCE THE INCEPTION OF THE PROGRAM WAS 94%, WITH 100% OF ITS 2012 SENIORS GRADUATING FROM HIGH SCHOOL.ONLY 15% OF FOSTER YOUTH ATTEND COLLEGE. OUR PROGRAM GOAL IS FOR OUR HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATES TO ACHIEVE AN 85% COLLEGE ATTENDANCE RATE OR BETTER. 96% OF OUR STUDENTS HAVE ENROLLED IN COLLEGE WITHIN A YEAR OF COMPLETING HIGH SCHOOL.ONLY 2% OF FOSTER YOUTH GRADUATE FROM COLLEGE. OUR PROGRAM GOAL IS TO ACHIEVE A 60% COLLEGE GRADUATION RATE OR BETTER. AS OF JULY 1, 2000, NEW ROADS SCHOOL WAS INCORPORATED IN THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA AS AN INDEPENDENT EDUCATIONAL COMMUNITY THAT SERVES STUDENTS IN PRE-KINDERGARTEN THROUGH GRADE 12 ON TWO CAMPUSES WITHIN LOS ANGELES COUNTY.COALITION FOR ENGAGED EDUCATION AND NEW ROADS SCHOOL WERE JOINT OWNERS OF NEW LAND CO., WHICH WAS CREATED TO BUY THE LAND FOR THE NEW ROADS MIDDLE AND HIGH SCHOOL CAMPUS. ON DECEMBER 30, 2010, THE FOUNDATION TRANSFERRED TO THE SCHOOL ITS REMAINING 50% INTEREST IN NEW LAND CO. NEW LAND CO. WAS THEN DISSOLVED AND ITS ASSETS DISTRIBUTED TO THE SCHOOL, WHICH IS NOW RESPONSIBLE FOR THE MANAGEMENT OF THE HERB ALPERT EDUCATIONAL VILLAGE. VILLAGE MEMBERS COLLABORATE TO DESIGN AND IMPLEMENT REAL SOLUTIONS TO EDUCATIONAL PROBLEMS. IN THE SPECIALLY DESIGNED LEADERSHIP CENTER, THE VILLAGE WILL PUT ON WORKSHOPS, SEMINARS AND CONFERENCES THAT WILL BE OPEN TO THE PUBLIC; IN THE 340 SEAT THEATER, THE COMMUNITY HAS A VENUE FOR ARTS AND CULTURE, AND THE SCHOOL HAS A RESOURCE FOR ARTS AND MUSIC EDUCATION.
