Mission and Program Overview

Mission

International organization for women who hold positions of impact in the aviation and aerospace industry. Founded in 1988, iawa brings together women of achievement and promotes their advancement throughout the world. Women are assuming greater and more visible roles within the industry, through annual global conferences, regional receptions and connects, iawa provides a forum to share views on matters of importance to the industry, as well as to women in general. Women should have five years of leadership experience in aviation or aerospace to apply for iawa membership. However, our conference is open to all women in our industry.

To cultivate and advance women leaders in the aviation and aerospace industries.

Governance Explanations

The organization engaged the services of talley management group, inc. To manage its affairs . Iawa retained the services through february 1, 2022.

Form 990, Part VI, Section A, Line 6

The organization has two classes of members. General members consists of persons who have signified interest in carrying out the purposes of the organization. Founding members are those women who actively participated in developing iawa or who attended the first iawa conference held in chicago, illinois in november, 1989. All members in good standing shall be entitled to vote on matters placed before them by the board of directors.

A nominating committee composed of the president, vice president, and immediate past two presidents shall nominate prospective directors. The affirmative vote of a majority of directors is required for selection of new directors.

PART X, LINE 2:

Gaap requires entities to evaluate, measure, recognize and disclose any uncertain income tax positions taken on their returns. Gaap prescribes a minimum threshold that a tax position is required to meet in order to be recognized in the financial statements.
