PART X, LINE 2:

Accounting standards require an organization to evaluate its tax positions and provide for a liability for any positions that would not be considered 'more likely than not' to be upheld under a tax authority examination. Management has evaluated its tax positions and has concluded that a provision for a tax liability is not necessary at december 31, 2015. PSR-LA IS A FOUNDING MEMBER OF THE LOS ANGELES EQUITY ALLIANCE WHICH MONITORS THE IMPLEMENTATION OF CALIFORNIA'S CLIMATE INVESTMENTS TO ENSURE THAT SOUTH LOS ANGELES RECEIVES ITS FAIR SHARE OF FUNDING AND THAT THE INVESTMENTS BENEFIT CURRENT RESIDENTS.(SEE SCHEDULE O FOR FURTHER PROGRAM ACCOMPLISHMENT DESCRIPTIONS)PSR-LA WORKS TO REDUCE AIR POLLUTION IN THE SOUTH COAST, WHERE LOS ANGELES RESIDENTS EXPERIENCE SOME OF THE WORST AIR QUALITY IN BOTH THE STATE AND THE COUNTRY. LARGELY WE FOCUS ON THE AIR QUALITY HARM CREATED BY URBAN OIL DRILLING AND PRODUCTION OPERATIONS IN SOUTH LA, WHERE THESE FACILITIES ARE LOCATED IN CLOSE PROXIMITY TO SENSITIVE LAND USES - SUCH AS HOMES, SCHOOLS, CHURCHES, AND HOSPITALS - IN LOW-INCOME NEIGHBORHOODS AND COMMUNITIES OF COLOR. IN 2015, PSR-LA SUCCESSFULLY BROUGHT TOGETHER STAND TOGETHER AGAINST NEIGHBORHOOD DRILLING - LOS ANGELES (STAND-LA), A COALITION OF ENVIRONMENTAL JUSTICE GROUPS WORKING TO PREVENT NEIGHBORHOOD OIL EXTRACTION IN THEIR COMMUNITIES AND HAS BECOME A STRONG COMMUNITY VOICE IN PREVENTING THE HARMS OF URBAN OIL DRILLING. PSR-LA IS ALSO WORKING TO MAKE HEALTH A STRONGER FOCUS OF THE REGULATIONS PRODUCED AND ENFORCED AT THE SOUTH COAST AIR QUALITY MANAGEMENT DISTRICT (SCAQMD).LAND USE AND HEALTH: PSR-LA'S LAND USE AND HEALTH PROGRAM AIMS TO ASSESS AND ALLEVIATE THE SEVERITY OF INDUSTRIAL CONTAMINATION AND POLLUTION IN LOS ANGELES, WITH A SPECIFIC FOCUS ON THE SOUTH CENTRAL COMMUNITY. IN 2015, WE MADE SIGNIFICANT STRIDES TOWARDS THIS GOAL BY CENTERING OUR EFFORTS ON DATA COLLECTION, HEALTH IMPACTS ANALYSIS, AND COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT. WE ALSO ACTIVELY ENGAGED IN EDUCATION, ADVOCACY AND ACTIVISM IN JORDAN DOWNS, A 700-UNIT PUBLIC HOUSING COMMUNITY SITUATED NEXT TO A 21-ACRE BROWNFIELD IN WATTS THAT IS SLATED FOR POTENTIALLY HARMFUL REDEVELOPMENT AND IMPROPER ENVIRONMENTAL REMEDIATION.TOXICS: THROUGH OUR TOXICS PROGRAM, PSR-LA IS COMMITTED TO THE PRECAUTIONARY PRINCIPLE, THE IDEA THAT WE SHOULD NOT USE CHEMICALS IN OUR PRODUCTS THAT HAVE DISPUTED OR UNKNOWN EFFECTS ON HUMAN HEALTH. WE SPENT 2015 CONTINUING TO WORK WITH CALIFORNIANS FOR A HEALTHY AND GREEN ECONOMY (CHANGE) AND CALIFORNIANS FOR PESTICIDE REFORM (CPR) TO SUPPORT POLICY AND SYSTEMS CHANGE THAT WOULD PROVIDE CALIFORNIANS WITH THE NECESSARY INFORMATION TO MAKE HEALTHY DECISIONS FOR THEIR FAMILIES AND REDUCE THE USE AND EXPOSURE TO TOXIC CHEMICALS IN PRODUCTS, AND FOOD PRODUCTION. WE ALSO WORKED WITH PARTNERS TO URGE 99 CENTS ONLY STORES TO STOP SELLING PRODUCTS MADE WITH TOXIC CHEMICALS.NUCLEAR THREATS: PSR-LA WORKS TO PREVENT THREATS TO HEALTH FROM THE DESTRUCTIVE FORCE OF NUCLEAR WEAPONS AND EXPOSURE TO HIGHLY TOXIC AND LONG-LIVED RADIONUCLIDES. IN 2015, PSR-LA HELD A SERIES OF PUBLIC EVENTS TO INCREASE AWARENESS OF THE GROWING INTERNATIONAL MOVEMENT TO BAN AND ELIMINATE NUCLEAR WEAPONS, INCLUDING A COMMEMORATION OF THE 70TH ANNIVERSARY OF HIROSHIMA AND NAGASAKI. PSR-LA ALSO LAUNCHED A COMMUNITY COST PROGRAM TO CALCULATE HOW MUCH COMMUNITIES AND INDIVIDUALS PAY FOR NUCLEAR WEAPONS IN TAX DOLLARS. PSR-LA CONTINUED OUR EFFORTS TOWARD THE FULL CLEANUP OF CONTAMINATION AT THE SANTA SUSANA FIELD LABORATORY (SSFL) AND WAS FEATURED IN NBC4'S INVESTIGATION OF SSFL, "LA'S NUCLEAR SECRET."
