Mission

The mission of oc gateway to housing is to change the lives of homeless families by providing them with encouragement and the tools for achieving self-sufficiency.

Major Activities

Activity 2
Increased skills or income: fy 12/13 accomplishment - a) 85 percent of adult residents gained part-time employment within 60 days of entry to program and 90 percent had a full-time job within 120 days of entry to the program; b) 78 percent of the adults were able to increase thier income by 50 percent upon successfully exiting the program. A lower number was due to a large number of employers not hiring more than 32 hours a week to save employee benefits; c) 95 percent of adults who graduated sucessfully from the transitional housing program were employed and 85 percent of those employed were full time.
Activity 3
Greater self-determination: fy 12/13 accomplishments - a) 86 percent of the residents accomplished two goals in their service plan within six months of entry to the transitional housing program; b) 91 percent of residents accomplished no less than four goals upon exiting the program; c) 90 percent of the residents participated in parenting class for a minimum of three months whiln in the program; d) of the 90 percent who attended parenting class, 81 percent passed the post-test demonstrating no less than two key changes to their parenting efffectiveness; e) 95 percent of family members attended mental health therapy for no less than six months upon exiting the program.
