Mission

The Bob Hope USO lifts the spirits of Americas troops and their families by providing morale, welfare and recreation programs and services to over 160,000 service members and their families from throughout Southern California.USO-GLAA PROVIDES MORALE, WELFARE, AND RECREATIONAL SERVICES TO MEN AND WOMEN IN THE MILITARY. IT OPERATES CENTERS IN AIRPORTS IN LOS ANGELES, ONTARIO, ORANGE COUNTY, AND PALM SPRINGS CALIFORNIA. ASSISTANCE IS PROVIDED TO THOSE IN MILITARY SERVICE AND THEIR FAMILIES.

OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 4: ORANGE COUNTY AIRPORT:Our USO Center at John Wayne Airport provides an airport lounge and a Home-Away-From-Home for members of the military, their dependent families, and military retirees and their spouses. In CY2015 the center welcomed 3,741 guests. Amenities include snacks and food, games, WiFi access, video games, movies, and room to rest and relax. All services are free of charge to guests and are provided by a team of 95 volunteers. Bob Hope USO Orange County serves at Joint Forces Training base, Los Alamitos where approximately 5,000 troops and military families have been the beneficiaries of USO programs and events ranging from deployment picnics to special celebrity movie screenings.

AS A CHARTER ORGANIZATION OF USO, INC., BOB HOPE USO IS AN INDEPENDENT, CALIFORNIA NON PROFIT CORPORATION AND RELIES ENTIRELY ON THE GENEROSITY OF LOCAL DONORS AND PHILANTHROPIC ORGANIZATIONS AND COMPANIES. THE ORGANIZATION RECEIVES NO FUNDING FROM THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT.WE DIRECTLY INTERACTED WITH MEMBERS OF THE MILITARY AND THEIR FAMILIES MORE THAN 160,000 TIMES IN FY2015 AT OUR AIRPORT SITES AND TENS OF THOUSANDS MORE AT MILITARYBASES AND IN THE COMMUNITY. IRS990/ProgSrvcAccomActy2Grp/Desc0ONTARIO AIRPORT CENTER:Our Bob Hope USO center at Ontario International Airport provides an airport lounge and home-away-from-home for members of the military, their dependent families and military retirees and their spouses. The center specializes in major troop movements and has, at times, hosted more than 2,000 troops in a single day, often on their way to danger zones around the world. In CY2015, the center welcomed 33,434 guests. Amenities include snacks and food, games, wifi access, international telephone service, video games and movies, and room to rest and relax. All services are free of charge to guests and provided by a team of 146 volunteers. On-base programs are provided to military installations in western San Bernardino and Riverside counties. Specifically, all Bob Hope USO programs and services for Ft Irwin, March AFB, and Edwards AFB, originate at our Ontario Center. These programs are many but most notably include support for the Ft Irwin Hospital, live entertainment programs, and junior enlisted support programs.

The center welcomes all services but due to its proximity to 29 Palms Marine Corps base primarily caters to junior Marines. In CY2015, the center welcomed 12,562 guests. Amenities include snacks and food, games, wifi access, international telephone service, video games and movies, and room to rest and relax. All services are free of charge to guests and provided by a team of 101 volunteers. Our Palm Springs center also provides USO on-base programs at 29 Palms Marine Corps Base. Our staff and volunteers are almost a constant presence at 29 Palms, supporting thousands of marines and family members with care packages, family oriented programs/events, deployment & redeployment activities, and morale support.
