Represent, promote and enhance the contractors' interests through labor relations, education, training and the creation of a better business environment.

To promote meetings for electrical contractors and provide them with an effective agency through which to express their collective voice to promote sound labor relations and promote and join in the programs of practical training for apprentices.

Governance Explanations

Form 990, Part VI, Line 6: Explanation of Classes of Members or Shareholder

The members of the organization are electrical contractors in the greater Orange County area. Members are classified as Permanent Members or Temporary Members. Permanent Members shall be those in good standing of the National ELectrical Contractors Association, Inc. who have a permanently established place of business in the area served by this Chapter. Temporary members are those persons, firms, or corporations who are members of NECA and meet the requirements of permanent members in every respect except that they do not maintain a permanent place of business in the jurisdiction served by this Chapter.

Form 990, Part VI, Line 7A: How Members or Shareholders Elect Governing Body

The President shall appoint a Nominating Committee of three members at the October meeting who shall nominate the Directors/ Additional nominations of eligible members may be made from the floor at the Election Meeting. Any member of the Organization having been in continuous good standing for three consecutive years may be nominated to serve as a member of the Board of Directors. The election of Directors shall take place at the regular meeting in November by secret ballot. Directors shall hold office for a two year term. The President, V.P., Treasurer, and Governor shall be chosen from the elected Board of Directors by the Board of Directors at its December meeting. The Governor will serve a two year term and the President, V.P., and Treasurer will serve a one year term.Only permanent members can vote.

The direction and administration of the affairs and funds of the Organization shall be vested in the Board of Directors elected as hereinafter provided, which shall have authority to act in all matters, subject to such instruction as may be given by resolution or motion passed by a two-thirds vote of the members present at any meeting of the Organization.

The Secretary-Manager reviews, signs, and mails the return. The return is made available to the board for their review at the next board meeting.

The conflict of interest policy applies to all directors, officers, and chief employed executives of the organization. If any person covered by this policy determine or suspect that any actual or possible conflict of interest exists, such person must disclose the existence of the financial interest giving rise to the conflict and disclose all relevant facts prior to entering into any proposed transaction or arrangement. In addition, at least once annually officers and board members will disclose in writing any relationships or interest that could give rise to a conflict.

Members are classified as Permanent Members or Temporary Members. Permanent Members shall be those in good standing of the National ELectrical Contractors Association, Inc. who have a permanently established place of business in the area served by this Chapter. Temporary members are those persons, firms, or corporations who are members of NECA and meet the requirements of permanent members in every respect except that they do not maintain a permanent place of business in the jurisdiction served by this Chapter.

Any member of the Organization having been in continuous good standing for three consecutive years may be nominated to serve as a member of the Board of Directors. The election of Directors shall take place at the regular meeting in November by secret ballot. Directors shall hold office for a two year term. The President, V.P., Treasurer, and Governor shall be chosen from the elected Board of Directors by the Board of Directors at its December meeting. The Governor will serve a two year term and the President, V.P., and Treasurer will serve a one year term.Only permanent members can vote.
