Ebcf Properties

“Ebcf properties is a type i supporting organization of the east bay community foundation (ebcf). Ebcf is a public charity described in internal revenue code sections 501(c)(3) and 170(b)(1)(a)(vi). The type i relationship is maintained by virtue of the fact that ebcf has the power to appoint/remove members of the governing body of ebcf properties.”

“The foundation's accounting firm forwarded the form 990 to the interim chief financial officer of ebcf. The interim chief financial officer reviewed the return and forwarded the form 990 to the other board members prior to filing. If the board members had questions, the interim chief financial officer or the accounting firm addressed the questions before submitting the form 990 to the irs.”

“A conflict of interest questionnaire is distributed annually to officers and directors. Each person returns the questionnaire and confirms in writing their coi status. East bay community foundation properties requires its directors and officers to disclose all interests that they or their family members have in other for-profit or nonprofit entities, or interests that might exist among directors and officers where it is foreseeable that the foundation may enter into a contract or award a grant or have other business or financial dealings with the entity. This shall include, but not be limited to, financial interests, officer positions, directorships, and other similar substantial interests in any such entities. If a conflict or potential conflict is identified, then the officer or board member would recuse themselves from any vote on the matter before the board or committee.”

“The organization makes its governing documents, conflict of interest policy, and financial statements available to the public upon request for the same period of time set forth in sec. 6104(d).”

“Ebcf properties is included in a consolidated audit with the east bay community foundation (ebcf). The organization utilizes the ebcf audit as its own. The audit committee of the ebcf has oversight of all entities included in the consolidated audit.”
