Activity 2

The giants community fund is proud to have named its field renovation program in honor of former team president peter magowan for his leadership in building the giants organization and its community outreach over 17 seasons. The peter a. Magowan fields for kids program reaches out to underserved communities where the junior giants program exists in order to enhance recreational opportunities and create safer places to play. Since 1995, the giants community fund has worked with giants players and partners such as the good tidings foundation to refurbish 21 youth baseball fields."

Activity 3

The mission of the harmon & sue burns scholars program is to provide an incentive for higher education, promote active community service, and extend the impact of the junior giants baseball program. Emphasizing the importance of leadership,teamwork, confidence and integrity, junior giants furthers its commitment to the community through this unique scholarship. The goal of this program is to provide students with the incentive and motivation to actualize their full potential. A $2,500 scholarship will be awarded to ten students who will be in eighth grade in the current academic year and are currently participating in the junior giants baseball program. The harmon & sue burns scholars program is open to all current seventh grade participants in junior giants baseball. All eligible participants within the over 85 regional leagues are encouraged to apply for this award."
