“Working in partnership with Geoversitys Panama not-for-profit affiliate organization, Fundacion Geoversity, and with funding and in-kind support from foundations and individuals, we dedicated much of FY2020 to the expansion of Geoversitys Environmental Leadership programs, Geoversity manages an alliance of accomplished individuals and organizations that share a commitment to Learning From and Partnering With Nature. Our main world campus is the 12,900-acre Mamoni Valley Preserve in Panama managed by Geoversity and partner organziations. Geoversity Foundation and Fundacion Geoversity are serving as the International Secretariat for the Geoversity Alliance. Geoversity is developing field stations in other locations, particularly on the island of Sao George, The Azores, Portugal with activities taking place primarily during the months of June, July and August. The Foundation is continuing in its development of a wetlands field station on the Pacific Coast of Panama. Geoversity -under the banner of Geoversity Design- conducted another workshop in Panama on bamboo construction with Jorg Stamm, the internationally renowned builder specializing in bamboo. We also developed a model program for primary and secondary schools on Learning From and Designing With Nature, in team with Kings College of Panama. In February 2020, Geoversity conducted Earth Vision Transcontinental Journey for youth leaders from six countries from the Pacific to the Atlantic Coast of the indigenous Guna. Geoversity produced its first Power of Nature Forum held in Panama at the Parliament of the Americas with the participation of business and NGO leaders.
