Food Resource Network

“FRNF is a federation of five major food banks, a home delivery meal service and a community garden advisory group. FRNF members provide foods for those with special dietary needs, infant food and supplies, gardening instruction and seeds, hot meals, instruction on healthy food preparation and referral for those needing additional services.”

“The governing body is composed of one representative from each member agency. FRNF does not have a separate committee that is authorized to act on behalf of the governing body.”

“FRNF recognizes that the governance role of its Board of Directors includes the annual review of preparation of Form 990. FRNF requires review of the Form 990 prior to its filing on an annual basis. The FRNF Treasurer is responsible for preparation of Form 990. The Form 990 is prepared by a volunteer accountant who has many years of experience in financial management of 501(c)3 corporations. The completed Form 990 is provided to the Board of Directors in advance of the filing date to enable a detailed and conscientious review by all members of the organization. After all input from the Board of Directors has been appropriately addressed, the Treasurer files the final Form 990.”

“The organization makes it governing documents and financial statements available to the public by request.”

“Before its dissolution in 2017, the Coalition for Charitable Choice conducted workplace giving campaigns on behalf of Food Resource Network. Food Resource Network was a member. Workplace giving programs are now coordinated directly through King County's Employee Giving Program and the State of Washington's Combined Fund Program. These programs coordinate annual giving programs allowing employees to give to the charity of their choice through payroll contributions. There are no fundraising expenses associated with these programs.”
