Activity 2

Academic enrichment grants - the purpose of the academic enrichment grants (classroom enrichment and kateri brow) are two fold - to support teachers and to fund innovation in the classroom or building. Classroom enrichment grants are funded in amounts of up to $1,000 and kateri brow biggest need and big idea grants are funded in amounts of up to $10,000. Front line employees like teachers or principals, are best at both identifying problems and developing solutions. The foundation partners with them to first fund these grants, and if proven valuable to student learning, replicate those solutions across the district. Last year, 38 grants were funded which, in one year, impacted the education of 8,045 students. Most grants have multi-year impact.

Activity 3

Voice mentor program - voice provides students in grades k-12 with one on one mentoring for one hour/week when referred by a staff member for academic support or social/emotional needs. In the 2011-2012 school year, 209 mentors served 311 students.
