Mission

The purpose of the center is to provide a comprehensive program of health services designed to meet the primary health care needs and other wellness services of the urban indian and underserved communities in phoenix.

Mission: to provide accessible holistic patient centered care, to empower our community to achieve the highest quality health and well-being. Vision: healthy people in healthy communities. Values: in the tradition of our people, native health continues to carry the core values that help strengthen individuals and families by providing services in an atmosphere of hospitality and respect for the dignity of each person involved in the caring and healing process and is further characterized by professional excellence. These core values are (c.i.r.c.l.e.): community: our unique service to the urban phoenix native american population and others we serve is honored as we are chosen as their medical home within the available health care community. Integrity: our organizational integrity requires that as we express our intent in a clear and honest manner, we trust that the truth will ultimately be demonstrated by our positive actions. Native health has been busy fy 2020 brought the covid pandemic, and native health had to change, grow, and shift priorities. Some accomplishments included rolling out medical, behavioral health, and emergency telehealth and virtual health care. Native health also provided thousands of covid tests, flu shots, and began distributing covid vaccines. During covid, native health began providing online cultural classes and programming. Thousands of people watched and participated in these classes from the safety of their homes. Supplies were provided at no cost to participants, and this proved to be very popular while people stayed home. Native americans were hit especially hard with covid. Native health stepped up and provided additional resources for the community. The demand for native health's food programs grew quickly and native health provided tens of thousands of meals during covid. This included children's meals, food backpacks, homeless snack bags, senior food boxes, urban native american food boxes, and much more. With additional funding and support from various partners native health was able to provide indigenous food boxes, holiday food boxes and turkeys, toiletries, holiday gifts, and much, much more native health has addressed food insecurity and provides food five days per week, with a free, curbside, grab and go model. Native health continues to listen to the community and worked with arizona state university's american indian programs and provides virtual talking circles to support the students as well as other programming in the community. Native health also hosted a virtual indigenous warriors diabetes prevention camp, a virtual youth fest, both of which promote good health and wellness. The traditional children's pageant and annual open house were done virtually, and everyone enjoyed the different presentations and materials. Turnout for these programs was at a record high native health launched a first ever, indigenous kindergarten boot camp, which helps urban native american preschool children be prepared to enter kindergarten. Virtual classes were offered three times per week, for six weeks. All supplies and indigenous books were mailed to the student at no cost. Native health continues to be nationally recognized and during covid many news outlets covered the unique programming and activities. Native health continues to provide primary medical, dental, behavioral health, wic and wellness programs to all. Covid brought new challenges, but native health emerged stronger and better services continue and more programs are being offered virtually to the community. Native health continues to outreach to the community and provide requested services. Covid vaccines are what native health is rolling out now, with a great response. Native health instituted medical outreach teams to serve the community. This began with covid testing, moved to flu shots, and now providing covid vaccines. One arm at a time, native health is making a difference. Fy 2020 was quite a year, and native health is looking forward to upcoming challenges

NATIVE HEALTH CONTINUES TO LISTEN TO THE COMMUNITY AND WORKED WITH ARIZONA STATE UNIVERSITY'S AMERICAN INDIAN PROGRAMS AND PROVIDES VIRTUAL TALKING CIRCLES TO SUPPORT THE STUDENTS AS WELL AS OTHER PROGRAMMING IN THE COMMUNITY. NATIVE HEALTH ALSO HOSTED A VIRTUAL INDIGENOUS WARRIORS DIABETES PREVENTION CAMP, A VIRTUAL YOUTH FEST, BOTH OF WHICH PROMOTE GOOD HEALTH AND WELLNESS. THE TRADITIONAL CHILDREN'S PAGEANT AND ANNUAL OPEN HOUSE WERE DONE VIRTUALLY, AND EVERYONE ENJOYED THE DIFFERENT PRESENTATIONS AND MATERIALS. TURNOUT FOR THESE PROGRAMS WAS AT A RECORD HIGH NATIVE HEALTH LAUNCHED A FIRST EVER, INDIGENOUS KINDERGARTEN BOOT CAMP, WHICH HELPS URBAN NATIVE AMERICAN PRESCHOOL CHILDREN BE PREPARED TO ENTER KINDERGARTEN. VIRTUAL CLASSES WERE OFFERED THREE TIMES PER WEEK, FOR SIX WEEKS. ALL SUPPLIES AND INDIGENOUS BOOKS WERE MAILED TO THE STUDENT AT NO COST. NATIVE HEALTH CONTINUES TO BE NATIONALLY RECOGNIZED AND DURING COVID MANY NEWS OUTLETS COVERED THE UNIQUE PROGRAMMING AND ACTIVITIES. NATIVE HEALTH CONTINUES TO PROVIDE PRIMARY MEDICAL, DENTAL, BEHAVIORAL HEALTH, WIC AND WELLNESS PROGRAMS TO ALL. COVID BROUGHT NEW CHALLENGES, BUT NATIVE HEALTH EMERGED STRONGER AND BETTER SERVICES CONTINUE AND MORE PROGRAMS ARE BEING OFFERED VIRTUALLY TO THE COMMUNITY. NATIVE HEALTH CONTINUES TO OUTREACH TO THE COMMUNITY AND PROVIDE REQUESTED SERVICES. COVID VACCINES ARE WHAT NATIVE HEALTH IS ROLLING OUT NOW, WITH A GREAT RESPONSE. NATIVE HEALTH INSTITUTED MEDICAL OUTREACH TEAMS TO SERVE THE COMMUNITY. THIS BEGAN WITH COVID TESTING, MOVED TO FLU SHOTS, AND NOW PROVIDING COVID VACCINES.
