MCAL oversees all athletics for high schools in our county. We use the National Federation Rule books. We schedule all league play and host end of the season tournaments. By hosting the events we cut costs for our high schools. We host 56 events with 20-1600 people attending in a typical year. We over see the coaching education program for the schools. In California coaches are required to take certain courses. It is also our job to host re & post season meetings with our coaches and present them with rulebooks and education from our officials organizations. We hold 40+ meetings a year with at least 12 people attending each meeting. We also hold monthly meetings with our 9 athletic directors for implementation of our sports schedules and meet six to 9 times a year with our principals of our high schools who make up our governing board. Put simply our purpose is to supply the student athlete at our local high schools with the best athletic opportunities we can.
