“San mateo county farm bureau monitors local, state and national issues that may impact their member's ability to continue to produce food and fiber. They keep members informed on important issues including the general plan, water issues, and air and environmental issues. Smcfb supports local youth activities including 4h and ffa. These programs are designed to encourage students to learn about agriculture for both on and off farm students. Smcfb is actively involved in working with members in managing and controlling watershed activies, including stream monitoring, dam removal and other projects designed to improve the environment.”
