| In 2025, Halite Solutions Group (HSG) furthered its mission to empower individuals with cystic fibrosis (CF) through targeted collaboration, education, and advocacy. Its Aging with CF initiatives broadened support for adults by integrating innovative program design, patient-driven advocacy, strategic storytelling, and systemic approaches to spotlight the unique challenges faced by older adults with CF. HSG prioritized building partnerships, expanding care networks, and offering educational opportunities that addresses the multifaceted realities of aging with CF. A major accomplishment was the growth of the CF Senior Saturday virtual meeting series. HSG organized 10 online sessions featuring guest speakers, advocates, healthcare professionals, and community members with lived experience. Topics include quality of life, healthcare navigation, mental wellness, self-advocacy, and challenges unique to adults with CF. The program saw over 300 registrations and more than 240 participants, strengthening peer connections, knowledge exchange, and community awareness. By centering narrative discussions and real-life perspectives, HSG increased recognition of the aging CF population and fostered broader conversations on long-term survivorship. Collaborations with three national CF organizations broadened outreach and amplified issues impacting older adults.HSG supported the Aging with CF Special Interest Group (SIG), an eight-member advisory team focused on advocacy, research, education, and resource development for the aging CF community. Meeting monthly, the SIG identified emerging needs, guided patient-centered initiatives, and contributed to efforts improving communication, support structures, and access to tailored resources. The SIG also promoted the CF Navigator: Personal Health Toolkit, a resource designed to help adults with CF organize medical information, enhance communication with providers, and make informed health decisions.HSG collaborated with two CF Project Teams to develop patient-led position papers highlighting challenges faced by CF seniors and those diagnosed later in life. These initiatives amplified underrepresented voices and identified gaps in awareness, diagnosis, and ongoing support. The SIG reviewed and endorsed both papers, underscoring its commitment to informed advocacy. The papers were published on the HSG website and distributed at the Arizona Health Equity Conference with supplemental educational materials to broaden professional and public understanding of adults aging with CF.To promote health equity, HSG sponsored the Arizona Health Equity Conference, which contributed to discussions on healthcare disparities and raised awareness of ongoing research, recognition, and support gaps for older adults with CF.Through program development, advocacy, and collaborative systems-building, HSG expanded education, visibility, and patient-centered resources supporting adults aging with cystic fibrosis and the wider CF community. | - | $9,431 |
